"Of course not!" Sylvia instantly reined in her attitude, hugging his arm affectionately and resting her head on his shoulder like a pampered cat.

"I'm going to fish. If you're afraid of the sun, go back inside the cabin. Don't sit out on the deck," Killian stated mildly.

"I want to go for a swim in the ocean," Sylvia whined.

Killian glanced out at the water. The yacht had long since left the coastline and was now in deep waters. "The currents out here are unpredictable. It's not safe. Don't go."

"I'll just swim for a few minutes. It'll be fine," Sylvia insisted, refusing to give up.

"Ask your brother. If he agrees, you can go."

Sylvia's face instantly dropped, and she grumbled resentfully, "Forget it then. Gibson will never agree."

Just then, Gibson walked over. Catching the tail end of their conversation, he said sternly, "Absolutely not. Your ankle just healed. Seawater will easily cause a secondary infection."

Sylvia pouted, looking wronged. "Fine, I won't go."

After a brief silence, Gibson spoke again. "Sylvia, when you have time, you need to go apologize to Jillian. If she hadn't taken the photo of that snake the other day, you'd probably still be recovering in the hospital."

Gibson knew perfectly well that the snake wasn't highly venomous. Even without the photo, her life wouldn't have been in danger.

But accurately identifying the species was crucial for the doctors to administer the correct treatment quickly. More importantly, Jillian had absolutely no obligation to help her.

"You want me to apologize to her? Are you out of your mind?"

"Sylvia, you're an adult. Stop acting so childish." Gibson frowned deeply. "Jillian didn't have to do that for you. If you refuse to apologize, at least say thank you."

"You go if you want to! I'm never bowing my head to her."

The conversation hit a dead end, and the siblings parted on bad terms.
