The commentator announced loudly, "Congratulations to Contestant No. 7, Stella Jarrett, on winning the overall championship at The National Youth Figure Skating Championship! She has limitless potential and a bright future ahead!"
Post-match cameras immediately captured the backstage scene.
Before she could even change out of her costume, Stella ran into Jillian's arms. The mother and daughter embraced tightly, their smiles warm and healing.
In front of the screen, Connor slowly lowered his eyes, remaining silent.
Only then did Killian take the remote and turn off the television. He sat down next to his son and asked calmly, "Do you care a lot about that little girl?"
Connor still didn't speak.
But his silence was the best answer.
Killian understood. He stood up, walked back to his desk, and dialed the intercom. "Nate, come in here."
Nate Nash came in shortly after.
"Look into The National Youth Figure Skating Championship. See if it falls under Quincy Tech's sports sponsorships."
Nate was slightly taken aback.
Quincy Group had expanded significantly in recent years. With a massive industry and broad involvement, the vast majority of their ventures were highly profitable, save for a few projects like Project Sail.
When capital accumulated to a certain point, giving back to society became a consideration.
So over the years, Quincy Capital had sponsored numerous sports events and public welfare initiatives. But these projects were always managed by dedicated teams. Killian was incredibly busy and had never personally inquired about a specific event before.
Especially since this was merely a youth competition, hardly a major project.
Nate didn't dare ask too many questions. He immediately contacted the industry head to verify and quickly reported back. "Yes, Mr. Quincy. We hold the exclusive title sponsorship for all domestic ice and snow events, including figure skating, for the next ten years."
Killian pondered for a couple of seconds, then gave a few brief instructions.
At the door of the rest area, Connor watched quietly through the crack as his father made the arrangements.
