In the party hall, Jillian immediately spotted Leon.

Her eyes curved into crescents as she walked up with a bright smile to greet him. "Long time no see."

"Long time no see." Leon seemed to have something on his mind. Lacking her enthusiasm, he offered only a faint smile in return.

A few mutual friends gathered around and chatted for a good while.

The current Jillian was no longer as reserved as she used to be. Her personality had become much more outgoing. Whether it was insights into her professional field or various topics circulating in the business world, she could easily hold her own in the conversation.

Leon stood quietly to the side, silently watching her. He didn't speak much, but whenever he noticed Jillian's glass was empty, he subtly reached out and moved it aside for her.

Jillian didn't notice his quiet attentiveness. Not long after, their friends dispersed, leaving just her and Leon standing there.

"How are things progressing between you and Killian?" Leon asked casually.

Jillian figured Leon must have seen the clip of her and Killian arguing on television, so she replied, "I've already drafted The Marital Dissolution Agreement and gave it to Killian. The paperwork should be finalized in a month or two at most."

"Then I wish you the best," Leon said, taking a sip of his drink.

"Why aren't you drinking alcohol?" Jillian asked, looking puzzled.

"I gave it up a long time ago," Leon replied smoothly.

On the other side of the room, Mallory was already half-drunk, leaning heavily on her younger boyfriend, who was supporting her steadily.

Several acquaintances playfully teased her, "Miss Vaughn, which number boyfriend is this?"

"None of your business," Mallory retorted, rolling her eyes.

Jillian tilted her head, observing them for a moment. She realized she had seen this particular boyfriend of Mallory's several times now. It didn't look like she was cycling through men as quickly as rumors suggested.

Perhaps Mallory was actually taking this relationship seriously and not just playing around for novelty's sake.

A little while later, Mallory presumably lost a bet. She threw her arms around her young boyfriend and planted a heavy kiss on his lips right in front of everyone.

The surrounding crowd erupted into laughter. The young man didn't dodge awkwardly; a faint blush merely crept across his cheeks, making him look a bit shy.
