"Come home with me. How about we all have dinner together?" All the arrogant bluster had vanished from Sienna's face. She looked almost desperate, pleading.
"Psycho," Judith muttered, ushering Connor into the car.
Jillian quickly started the engine. As she turned the car around to leave, she saw Sienna still standing frozen in the same spot, her expression unreadable.
"How is this possible? How could it be?" Sienna sat in the back of her own car, massaging her temples against a throbbing headache. Her mind was absolute chaos.
"How could it be her? It's impossible. Impossible!"
She was muttering out loud. In the front seat, her driver couldn't help but ask, "Ma'am, are you alright?"
"I'm fine," Sienna snapped out of it and quickly ordered, "Take me to The Yale Residences."
When she arrived at The Yale Residences, Mrs. Zeller opened the door. Seeing Sienna, the housekeeper immediately tensed up and asked cautiously, "Ma'am, is there something you need?"
Sienna ignored her, storming straight inside. It wasn't until she looked around the grand space that the reality hit her: Jillian hadn't lived here in five years.
There wouldn't be a single trace of her left.
Connor's artwork was pinned to the walls. The living and dining rooms were spotless, filled only with wildly expensive decor.
None of it had anything to do with Jillian.
Driven by a frantic impulse, Sienna rushed into the bathroom and spotted Connor's toothbrush.
Her hands shook as she grabbed some tissue paper, wrapped the toothbrush up, and shoved it into her designer bag. Mrs. Zeller had hurried after her. "Ma'am, what's wrong?"
"What business is it of yours!" Sienna jumped, whirling around to bark at her.
It suddenly occurred to her that when Jillian used to live here, Mrs. Zeller had been incredibly nitpicky and difficult, undoubtedly making Jillian's life miserable.
A sudden, inexplicable surge of rage boiled over, and she lashed out. "You're just the hired help, so learn your place! Stop breathing down your employers' necks!"
Mrs. Zeller was totally bewildered, but knowing Sienna had never liked her anyway, she assumed she was just finding reasons to yell at her. She quickly lowered her head. "Yes, Ma'am."
