"Come here for a second," Killian said.

"Is there a problem?"

"I'm at The Grand Hyatt Regency. I just saw you."

Jillian took a deep breath. "And? It's the weekend. I have no obligation to accompany Mr. Quincy to his networking events."

"My father is here as well. He wants to meet you."

Jillian froze. Sean had been back in the country for a while now, yet he still had no idea who she really was.

She let out a self-deprecating scoff. It seemed Killian was truly dead set on refusing to publicly acknowledge her as his wife. He had even intentionally hidden her identity from his own father.

"I'm under no obligation to meet your father, either."

"Actually, you are. We haven't finalized the divorce yet. If you're perfectly fine with the world believing someone else is Connor's mother, then by all means, leave."

Jillian's grip on the phone tightened until her knuckles turned white. She couldn't care less about her title as Killian's wife, but she absolutely refused to let anyone muddy the truth about who Connor's real mother was.

"Fine. Where are you?"

"Third floor."

Jillian remembered she had literally just left the third floor and replied, "Give me a few minutes."

She quickly took the elevator back up. As soon as the doors opened, she spotted Killian and Sean sitting at a table.

She marched over confidently, gave Sean a polite nod, pulled out a chair, and sat down without asking.

Sean looked incredibly uncomfortable, fully aware he had been gossiping about her just minutes prior.

Trying to maintain his old-school, refined gentleman persona, he offered a stiff nod. "Ms. Jarrett, you're here too. What a coincidence."
