The Ex-Wife He Can’t Have novel Chapter 409

Not long after, Jillian received a notification to report to the Quincy Tech headquarters.

When she arrived and stepped into Killian's office, she was surprised to find Sylvia already sitting there.

Jillian's footsteps faltered slightly, her suspicion immediately aroused.

Killian let out a cold, mocking scoff. "Relax. It's business. You don't have nearly enough influence to make me call you in here for your personal drama."

Jillian understood. The petty internet gossip wasn't significant enough to alert the Quincy Tech executives.

That actually worked perfectly for her.

Sylvia quickly jumped in. "Now that the projects from both sides have fully merged, we still have some unresolved legacy issues to sort out. Bash was previously the brand ambassador for Qingzhou Motors. His contract expires in six months. The original agreement was designed for a long-term partnership, so unless something disastrous happens, we shouldn't recklessly swap out the spokesperson."

Jillian nodded, fully catching the underlying implication.

Bash had originally signed with Qingzhou, which was now fully absorbed by Project Astra. Whether or not his contract would be renewed was now up for debate.

"What is your assessment?" Jillian asked Sylvia directly.

Sylvia was currently managing the PR and branding division. Killian hadn't allowed her into the core executive decision-making circle, but she still controlled external communications.

Jillian hadn't objected to her role initially because Sylvia legitimately possessed industry experience and had a strong network within the entertainment sector.

An awkward look flashed across Sylvia's face, and she nervously glanced at Killian. "My view is that he hasn't suffered any catastrophic PR failures during his contract. We should honor the original agreement and renew. It's just..." She offered a fake, apologetic smile, letting her sentence trail off.

Jillian knew exactly what game she was playing and cut right to the chase. "Everything online is completely fabricated. I won't let baseless rumors dictate my professional judgment."
