"Did you forget the exact nature of my relationship with Killian?" Jillian asked once more.

Across the table, Sienna lowered her gaze, her tone laced with unease. "The divorce isn't finalized yet. This jewelry was originally a complete set—a necklace, a bracelet, and a ring. It is the Quincy family's heirloom, passed down exclusively to the daughters-in-law. I was afraid you wouldn't accept the whole set, so I only brought out The Emerald Heirloom Bracelet for now. By all rights, this should have been yours the year you joined the family."

Jillian looked at her quietly, instantly understanding the motive behind the gesture.

When she married Killian, aside from the initial five million dollars the Quincy family provided, she received absolutely nothing. No estate, no cars, no jewelry.

The Quincy family had always looked down on her and never took the marriage seriously. Naturally, the complete set of heirloom jewelry meant for a new bride was never handed over to her.

"We aren't officially divorced yet, but there's less than two weeks left in The Thirty-Day Cooling-Off Period." Jillian grabbed her purse by her side, ready to leave. "You refused to give it to me ten years ago, and there is absolutely no need to make up for it now."

"Wait!" Sienna hurriedly reached out, trying to grab her.

Jillian frowned, instinctively dodging her touch. Disgust was plain in her eyes.

Sienna awkwardly retracted her hand, thoroughly humiliated.

Once Killian was groomed as the heir, the Quincy family prepared everything he would need for marriage in advance. This included a marital estate, luxury cars, millions in cash, and a complete set of high-end jewelry, all classified as the bride price.

According to tradition, these were meant to be presented to the bride's family at the engagement banquet.

But Jillian's appearance shattered the Quincy family's grand plans for a high-society alliance. Combined with the fact that it was a secret marriage, they merely rushed to get the certificate. Even though there was a small engagement dinner, it was just a casual meet-and-greet for the two families. Only Sienna attended on behalf of the Quincys, and even Killian was a no-show. The formal handover of the bride price was completely scrapped, leaving Jillian with nothing.

Yet back then, Jillian had been entirely consumed by the joy of marrying Killian. Lost in her youthful, reckless love, she hadn't cared in the slightest about the Quincy family's disrespect or their lack of basic etiquette.

Judith, however, had always harbored deep resentment over it.

Judith didn't care about the money; she cared about the sheer lack of respect.

Other families sent their daughters off with grand celebrations, yet her own daughter was getting married without a single decent piece of engagement jewelry. It was glaringly obvious that the Quincy family looked down on them.

But hindered by the massive disparity in their social standings, and seeing how radiantly happy her daughter was, Judith swallowed her anger and said nothing.

"So, do you really think it is appropriate to compensate me with this now?" Jillian asked mildly.

"It is!" Sienna replied immediately, her tone earnest. "Even if you are about to divorce, you were the legitimate daughter-in-law of the Quincy family. The respect you were owed back then should be made right."

Jillian understood perfectly, seeing right through her intentions.

Without a doubt, this was Sean's idea.
