"If you hate it here so much, it's not too late to head back," Killian remarked coolly.

Sylvia bit her lip. It was rare for her to get Killian to take her on a trip, and she definitely wasn't going to forfeit the opportunity.

"I don't hate it. I just think it'd be nicer if the amenities were a little better," she defended herself, sliding into the seat beside him. She had scoped out the rooms earlier. They had booked the entire wing, which came with four bedrooms.

She was already plotting. If she could convince Connor Quincy to sleep in his own room, she could share a bed with Killian tonight.

Right as she was forming her plan, another burst of laughter rang out from the adjacent courtyard, deepening her annoyance.

Their side was dead and dreary, while the other side sounded like a party. What was there to be so happy about?

She turned to Caleb. "Go over there and tell them to keep it down."

Caleb glanced at Killian. When the boss offered no objection, he stepped out and knocked on the door of the neighboring courtyard.

The door swung open to reveal Daniel. Caleb blinked in surprise, leaning slightly to peek inside, where he spotted Jillian and Mallory.

"Is something wrong?" Jillian asked.

Caleb shifted awkwardly. "No, nothing."

Jillian easily guessed what he was thinking. "We'll be going to bed soon anyway."

Caleb gave a quick nod and excused himself.

Mallory couldn't figure out the exchange. "What was that about?"

"He probably thinks we're being too loud," Jillian said with a smile.

"Oh, come on, that has to be Sylvia. Why is she so high maintenance? If she hates it here, she can just leave! Does she think she's staying at a seven-star resort?" Mallory snapped.

"Why would she leave? Killian is still here," Leon pointed out.
