After tearing Jillian to shreds, Eleanor remembered the necessity of maintaining the girl's dignity and offered a few hollow pleasantries.

She then summoned Mrs. Zeller.

"The master and the lady of the house have a lovers' quarrel, and you do absolutely nothing to mediate?"

Mrs. Zeller's face crumpled into a mask of pure victimhood. "I'm just a servant, Madam. How could I ever dare to interfere in my employers' marriage?"

Eleanor scoffed coldly. "Drop the pathetic act. Do you think I don't know how much sway you hold over Killian? If you know he respects you, you should be guiding him properly."

"Stop bringing your disgusting, social-climbing habits into his home. I have never tolerated that Sylvia Xavier. By enabling Killian's infatuation with her, you are actively facilitating his infidelity! Does his reputation mean nothing? Does the face of the Quincy family mean nothing? Killian is one of the most powerful men in this city; he must set a flawless example in both society and his own household. And what about Connor? If he ends up a child of a broken home, do you think he'll ever live a normal life?"

As she delivered her brutal dressing-down, Eleanor's eyes deliberately cut toward Sienna.

She was eviscerating the housekeeper, but every single word was aimed directly at the throat of her daughter-in-law.

It was glaringly obvious that Eleanor possessed a much sharper, ruthlessly strategic mind than Sienna, always playing the long game for the dynasty's survival.

Sienna lowered her head, fully understanding the warning.

A little while later, Connor arrived home. Eleanor immediately scooped him into her arms, doting on him endlessly. Before finally departing, she laid down the absolute mandate that Jillian was to sleep at the house that very night.

Connor's face lit up with pure joy. "Great-grandmother, is Mommy really sleeping at home tonight?"

"Of course she is. This is her home. Where else would she sleep?"

Eleanor cast a deeply meaningful smile at Jillian.

The message was crystal clear: Look how happy your son is. For the sake of this child, you will not let this marriage crumble.

Jillian kept her eyes fixed firmly on the floor, her expression completely blank.

Once Eleanor and Sienna finally left, Mrs. Zeller dropped the deferential act. Though she clearly still despised Jillian, she didn't dare show her fangs too openly.

"Madam, shall I have the kitchen serve dinner?" she asked stiffly.

Jillian nodded. "Go ahead."

In the past, Mrs. Zeller managed everything with absolute autonomy. This was the first time she had ever bothered to ask for Jillian's permission.

Jillian walked to the study and knocked.

"Enter."

She stepped inside, keeping her gaze lowered.

Killian callously tossed a file onto his mahogany desk. "What?"

"Grandmother ordered me to stay the night and forbade me from moving out again."

Killian's face remained impassive, though a dark, storm-like tension radiated from him.

"However, if you want me gone, I will leave right now."

Killian's eyes snapped up, locking onto her with a chilling, predatory stillness. His dark irises looked entirely devoid of humanity.

"And how exactly do you plan on explaining that to her?"

"I don't plan on explaining anything. When she gets furious, she can call you directly."
