The Extraordinary Bride Of The Wyndham Family (Isla and Gabriel) novel Chapter 231

The children were on their way back home from school.

They looked tired and all Aurelian wanted was to get home and rest.

He still wants to sleep more.

Aurelian and Sebastian sat at the back of the car, while Elara sat quietly between them. The spacious vehicle moved smoothly along the road, surrounded by guards in black cars that followed closely behind them.

Sebastian was busy playing a game on his tablet. His fingers moved skillfully focussing on the screen, completely lost in his little world.

Elara, however, was unusually quiet.

She sat still, her small hands resting on her lap, her eyes fixed on nothing in particular. She looked like she was thinking deeply about something important. She looked bored and Aurelian noticed it almost immediately.

He always noticed things. Especially when it comes to his siblings. He might look distant to them. But he cares for them, always watching out for them.

While looking out through the tinted window, he shifted his gaze slightly toward his sister. Her silence felt strange to him. Elara was usually lively, always talking or laughing.”What is it?” Aurelian asked calmly, turning fully to her.

Elara’s blue eyes brightened at once. She turned toward him and pouted slightly, her lips sticking out in a childish way.

“I want some ice cream,” she said softly.

Aurelian paused for a second, then smiled faintly as he studied her face. There was something innocent and warm about her expression that made it impossible to refuse.

He nodded once. And he smiled at her.

Then he turned toward the front and addressed their bodyguard politely.

“Mr. Cane,” Aurelian said, his voice calm and respectful.” Can you please take us to the sweets shop? We would like to get some ice cream.”

Mr. Cane didn’t hesitate at all.

“Very well, Master,” he replied immediately.

He leaned forward and spoke quietly to the driver, giving him the new direction. He also picked up his radio and informed the other guards following behind them about the change in route.

Everything was done smoothly and professionally, as always.

“Thank you, Lian!” Elara’s tender and excited voice filledthe car.

Sebastian heard it and looked away from his game at once.

“Why are you thanking Lian?” Sebastian asked curiously, his brows knitting together, and his blue eyes were shining more than usual.

“We’re getting ice cream,” Elara replied happity.

Sebastian’s eyes widened in excitement.

“Ice cream?” he repeated, already smiling.

This surprised him because normally, Aurelian would not allow such a stop.

He would say it was unnecessary. Or that they already had everything they needed at home. Sometimes, he would even say that going out like this would attract too much attention.

And he was not wrong.

The triplets were not ordinary children.

They were the future of the Wyndham family.

They were well known in Carminton. Their parents were respected and powerful, and the Wyndham name carried great weight. The rest of the family was also popular, but the triplets were different.

They were admired everywhere.People talked about them. Children wanted to see them Adults whispered when they passed.

They were celebrity children.

And Aurelian understood this better than anyone else.

That was why Sebastian was surprised.

But he didn’t complain. Ice cream was ice cream. And today, Aurelian had said yes.

Aurelian did not like attention. In fact, he hated it. As for his siblings, they are naive. After all, they are children.

Aurelian however was different.

He would act like the responsible big brother, reminding his siblings that they had everything they needed at home and that going out was unnecessary and pointless.

Sebastian was already digging into his, grinning from ear to ear.

Aurelian, however, did not touch his.

He stood quietly, surveying the entire shop. His sharp eyes moved from corner to corner. He did not like public places, especially when attention was focused on them.

Whispers filled the air.

“Those are Isla and Gabriel’s children.”

“They look so cute.”

“I wish I could talk to them, mummy,” a little girl said softly.”We attend the same school, yet they don’t really talk to others,” another voice added.

Parents and children continued talking about the triplets in low voices.

Yes, people loved Isla and Gabriel dearly. But because of the tight security around their children, it was impossible for anyone to get close.

And Aurelian liked it that way.

“Can we go now?” Aurelian finally said.

He was already bored-and more than that, uneasy. The attention on them made his chest tighten. It scared him.

Mr. Cane quickly settled the bill.

The children were escorted out of the shop.

But the moment they stepped outside, they stopped abruptly.

The bodyguards reacted instantly, shielding the children in a tight formation.

None of them had expected what came next. The situation was sudden and dangerous.

There was no doubt about it.

Too much wealth sometimes, always comes with too much risk.
