Chapter 256
:
At the usual Monday shareholders’ meeting of Summer Group, everyone was reading the report in their hands.
It was clear that “Celestial Dog Food” was so popular across the country that customers couldn’t even get their hands on a single bag.
Everyone’s faces were glowing with unrestrained joy.
From champion-level kennels to animal research labs, everyone was pulling strings to buy it. The product had become a true status symbol.
Claire watched the unprecedented buzz around the product she’d personally created, a smile unconsciously curling on her lips.
“Back when I gritted my teeth and bought up all that Celestial Algae, I thought I was taking a risk. Turns out, it was totally worth it,” she said.
Amelia quickly chimed in, “It’s all thanks to you, Ms. Summer, for working day and night to perfect Celestial Algae. Now it’s a hot commodity, and everyone’s desperate to get their hands on it!”
“Except for that sting when we had to shell out so much for Celestial Algae.” Claire, feeling proud, looked confidently at the future. “But once Celestial Algae production picks up again, that’s when we’ll not only break even, but be rolling in money!”
Every cent they were spending now was just setting them up for a windfall down the road.
With that in mind, Claire instantly felt much better.
“Oh, and Ms. Summer,” Amelia said at just the right moment. “The organizers of the Golden Paw Cup in Swesault next month have specially invited you to attend as a VIP.”
Amelia handed over a gold-embossed invitation and a contract. “They want to order 500 bags of Celestial Dog Food as the champion’s prize. They also hope to sign a long-term agreement, making our product the official dog food for future companies.”
Claire smiled as she flipped through the contract.
One of the senior shareholders caught sight of the invitation and exclaim, “Back in the day, all those big dog food brands would go all out for the Golden Paw Cup, throwing cash and products at the organizers, just to snag an ad spot!
“But now? The organizers are the ones begging us to sell them our food!” His voice brimmed with pride like never before. “This kind of treatment is absolutely unheard of in our industry!”
Another shareholder jumped in, “Our Celestial Dog Food is basically the Hermès of the dog food world now. The fact that it’s so hard to get is the best proof of its brand value.”
“Honestly, talk about a blessing in disguise,” The first shareholder continued. “Sure, our Celestial Algae stock is tight right now but once the sunnk uncos back we’ll be firmly established as the luxury brand in the

market.

“If we’d actually gone with Nina’s Krill Algae Plan, we never would’ve created this situation where people are Acrambling for every single bag”
“Exactly,” someone else chimed in. “This kind of top-tier, free publicity is priceless. Nobody could buy it for any amount of money,”
The first shareholder turned to Claire, his eyes finally showing, real respect. “Ms. Summer, it was your gutsy call to stand your ground and lock in the Celestial Algae supply that made all the difference,
“If you hadn’t shown that kind of nerve, we wouldn’t be enjoying the kind of success that makes our competitors jealous.”
The other shareholders quickly agreed, and the whole room was filled with admiration for Claire.
After so many setbacks, this was the first time Claire had ever received so much support at a shareholders’ meeting.
Her heart felt as light and sweet as cotton.
‘Without Nina around, I can really shine, Claire thought to herself.
Claire flipped through a few pages of the Golden Paw Cup contract and then passed it over to Amelia. “Some of these terms need tweaking. Draft a new addendum and make sure the organizers add it in and stick to it
Amelia quickly nodded and took the contract. “Understood, I’ll handle it right away.”
Quentin raised an eyebrow, surprised. “You want to borrow a dog?”
Inside an RV in the Forest Isle Zoo. Quentin was gripping the Forest Isle Zoo expansion blueprints.
He looked up from the blueprints and gave Nina a skeptical look. She was curled up on the opposite couch, hugging his wolfdog.
Nina was giving Shadow’s ears a good rub as she explained, “My new dog food, ‘KrillJoy, is going to the Golden Paw Cup to stir up some buzz. But the organizers said every VIP has to bring their own dog.
She grinned and nuzzled Shadow’s head. “Honestly, I don’t know any other dogs. The one I know best, and the absolute coolest, is Shadow.”
Shadow’s eyes closed in pure bliss, his tail thumping happily against the couch. “Nina’s KrillJoy dog food smells so good! It’s even more irresistible than raw meat. I can smell it from way off.”
Quentin looked at his usually aloof wolfdog, who was now acting all clingy, and then shot Nina a look.
He raised an eyebrow. “Are you really here to ask for my permission, or are you just going through the motions?”

Nina blinked, grinning like a sly cat. “I gotta go through the motions, right?”
“Golden Paw Cup?” Quentin snorted. “Never heard of it.”
“Shadow only shows up at international competitions or official drills. Trust me, he doesn’t come cheap
Shadow instantly shot his paw up high. “I’m in for free! Totally free. I’m volunteering! I’ll even bring my own dog food!”
Nina tried not to laugh as she translated, “He says he’s happy to help out for free and he’ll even pay for his own dog treats!”
Quentin looked at his shamelessly excited dog, resisting the urge to thump his goofy head. “Absolutely not.”
He put on his most serious face. “Sorry, but the owner says no. Any more of this and you’re basically trying to dog-nap my prized companion.”
Nina scooted a little closer, all teasing. “Come on, Quentin. How much to make you say yes?”
Quentin’s finger landed on a spot on the Forest Isle Zoo expansion blueprints and tapped the extra land Nina had set aside. “Hand this lot over to me.”
Nina blinked in surprise. “Huh? But that’s my spare lot.”
“You haven’t even figured out what to do with it,” Quentin said, sounding totally laid-back. “Might as well let me use it.”
Nina stared at the plot, feeling a pang of regret, but remembering all the times Quentin had helped her out, she nodded. “Deal! So, it’s settled. Shadow’s all mine on the second of next month!”
After Nina left, Shadow was still sitting there, tail wagging and smiling goofily at the door she’d just walked out
Quentin gave his head a light tap. “Look at you, such a sucker for her.”
Then his eyes landed back on the plot he’d just scored, and a smile crept onto his face.
