He then remembered to ask, "Where do you live?"
"The Fairmont Villa."
After that, neither of them spoke.
Miles sat rigidly in the seat that didn't belong to him, afraid to even breathe too loudly at first.
It wasn't until they were almost at their destination that he gradually relaxed.
He couldn't help but marvel at how his life had improved.
With a boss this whipped, he got to enjoy the luxury.
The car stopped at the Fairmont Villa. Before getting out, Queenie nodded solemnly toward the back seat. "Thank you, Mr. Zimmer."
Miles snapped back to reality and waved with a stiff smile. "You're welcome, you're welcome."
Queenie took off the suit jacket and softly said to Stanley, "Thank you."
Her slender figure walked toward the standalone villa.
Stanley's gaze followed her intently.
Miles looked at him, then at her. "Ahem..."
Only then did the man withdraw his dark, unreadable gaze, and with a suppressed hostility, moved back to the rear seat.
Miles held his tongue as long as he could, but eventually gave in and tried to advise him again:
"Mr. Zimmer, Ms. Xylon has a family..."
"What are you worried about? Worried I'm going to wreck her home?"
"I'm afraid you're getting in too deep. A powerful CEO falling for a married woman... if word gets out, it'll sound terrible..."
Stanley's ink-dark eyes churned with gloom. "You really can't help but spew garbage, can you? A woman in a thin evening gown, walking on the street at night, injured and soaked in the rain—anyone with a shred of humanity wouldn't just ignore her."
His words left Miles completely speechless.
Fine!
So he was the only one who wasn't human.

After Queenie got home, she took a hot shower and went to sleep.
Her head felt heavy and dizzy, like she was coming down with a cold.
She slept terribly that night.
One moment she felt like she was trapped in a freezing blizzard, and the next, she felt like she was burning in a volcano.
