The Fragrance Queen's Final Note novel Chapter 39

Queenie curled her lips in a mocking smirk.

Lianne said, "If you really can't bear to leave Zander, I couldn't possibly be the one to tear you two apart. You could go to the hospital and do IVF. Doesn't Zander have feelings for Dr. Whitlock? We can just have Dr. Whitlock help out. As long as you give us a child, you'll still be the daughter-in-law of the Calvert family..."

If she hadn't heard it with her own ears, Queenie would never have believed these words could come out of Lianne's mouth.

This sounded exactly like something her sister-in-law Marilyn would do.

She once thought Lianne was so much better than Marilyn, but now it was clear they were cut from the exact same cloth.

Like mother, like daughter. It was just that some hid it better while others wore it on their sleeves.

"Mrs. Calvert, you're delusional!"

Since they had already ripped their masks off, Queenie no longer held anything back.

She laid her feelings completely bare, "I don't have a shred of feeling left for your son. Just looking at him makes me sick, let alone having a child with him. I don't care who you get to give the Calvert family an heir, but do not insult me. I don't want to be a Calvert wife for a second longer."

Lianne began to whimper and cry again.

After crying for a while, she stood up and grabbed Queenie's hand. "Queenie, then can I please beg you not to tell Zander before you get the final divorce certificate? I'm worried he won't want to divorce..."

"Don't worry. I want this divorce to go smoothly even more than you do."

Queenie pulled her hand back.

It was just a matter of waiting another twenty-odd days, and she didn't want any unexpected complications either.

She didn't want to waste time getting tangled up with a scumbag when she needed to focus on the upcoming perfume competition.

Fighting a messy divorce battle would consume entirely too much time and energy.

Queenie walked out the front door.

As she got into her car, a maid came jogging out, holding a packed portion of hot steamed buns.

"Ma'am, Madam heard you hadn't eaten breakfast, so she asked me to bring this to you."

Queenie stared at the food, her fingers tightening on the steering wheel.

In the past, she would have been deeply moved.

But now, she no longer needed this hypocritical show of care.

"No thanks. I'm not hungry."

She slammed on the gas and the car sped away from the Calvert home.

She drove recklessly until she reached the entrance of her atelier, only stopping when she felt entirely drained.
