The Fragrance Queen's Final Note novel Chapter 5

Through the surveillance feed, Queenie watched as Zander and Renata slipped into the study one after the other.

They had just fooled around at noon, yet they couldn't even restrain themselves until the next day. What an addiction!

Renata was wearing a trench coat, which looked perfectly normal at first glance. But the moment she stood in front of him, she let the coat slip off, revealing everything underneath.

Standing close together, she grabbed a long silk ribbon and tied it securely around his eyes.

Her next move, however, left Queenie utterly speechless.

Zander picked up a bottle of perfume and sprayed it generously over Renata's body.

It was a fragrance Queenie knew all too well. It was her own custom creation, the very one she wore every day. She had a habit of making several bottles of her signature scent and keeping them around the house as backups.

She couldn't believe he had taken her perfume and doused another woman in it. What was he trying to do?

Their following conversation provided the sickening answer.

Renata hooked one arm around his neck, her other hand trailing down his chest.

"If we keep doing this, what happens if Queenie finds out?"

His expression was utterly devoid of fear. "So what if she does? I'm not cheating. I'm just receiving treatment."

He pinched her chin. "I'm blindfolded. I smell her scent. I'm pretending you're her. I'm doing all this to recover as quickly as possible. She's incompetent as a wife and can't satisfy me, so I had no choice but to use you as a substitute."

"That's easy for you to say, but women are petty by nature. Even if you only let me use my hands, she'd have a hard time accepting it..."

"She'll understand. And even if she doesn't, I'll just coax her a bit."

His dismissive tone reeked of arrogance. "You don't understand how madly she's in love with me. Do you know why she won out over all the other girls back then? Because the others would give up the moment they were rejected. But her? No matter how many times I pushed her away, she would always come crawling right back. If you spent two years desperately chasing someone before finally getting them, would you let them go easily? She'll never leave me. She loves me to death."

In that instant, Queenie realized the heartbreaking truth. In his eyes, her fearless pursuit of love and her unyielding devotion were nothing more than pathetic desperation.

The feelings she had cherished so deeply had become nothing more than a trophy for him to flaunt in front of his mistress!
