Upon hearing Wynter's words, Dalton followed her gaze and said, "The Orendian Bronze Bronco."
Wynter nodded slightly. "And it still has a trace of a country's fortune on it."
The cultural relics of the fallen country of Orendia dated back to its golden era. They not only recorded a long history but also the ancients' great wisdom.
"A country's fortune," Dalton echoed lightly. "Since this batch of cultural relics was delivered here, someone should come to collect them. They'll then be delivered to Isidore, then sent back once he has finished absorbing their energy."
Wynter looked away. "Shall we shoot some fish in a barrel?"
"That's a good suggestion," Dalton said calmly. "But this fish isn't a big one."
Wynter turned to look at the lead smuggler she'd been talking to before. "How do you usually deliver these items to the other party?"
"We've never done so," the man replied solemnly. "We always just unloaded the goods at a certain place according to his instructions before leaving."
Wynter's gaze sharpened at that. "Where do you place the goods?"
"Not too far from here. There's a spot that allows us to dock along the shore ahead. We usually unload the goods there," the man answered dutifully.
Wynter raised an eyebrow at him. "Take me there."
At the moment, she wanted to find out exactly whether or not the Maritime Administration was involved in this.
If the other party really was someone from the Maritime Administration, she wouldn't be able to act rashly just yet. After all, without law enforcement rights, she would waste too much time if those people were to turn the tables on her.
The lead smuggler nodded and walked ahead of her, leading the way. Wynter followed behind him. After walking for a while, they arrived at an empty lot.
Before Wynter could get close, she heard two people's voices from afar.
One of the men shook his head exasperatedly. "Why is the delivery taking so long this time? They're keeping me from making money."
"It should be here soon. Once this batch of goods is delivered, there won't be any more in the future. Let's just keep waiting."
Wynter squatted aside. She had already covered the mouth of the lead smuggler next to her with a piece of cloth.
"They really are two members from the Maritime Administration," Wynter observed with a calm expression. "I suppose it makes sense. Only people from the Maritime Administration would be able to pick up and deliver goods at the port without anyone else being aware of it."
Under such circumstances, it was even more vital that they didn't rush to apprehend those two people. Otherwise, if any problems were to arise, it would only bring about unnecessary trouble.
At that moment, the two people from the Maritime Administration frowned.
"No matter how slow the delivery is, it shouldn't be this late, right? They're not picking up their phones, either."
"Could something have happened?" the other person asked, hurriedly walking forward and confirming that no boats were in sight. "I get the feeling that something's gone wrong. Let's leave this place first in case something really does happen later and it's too late to run."
"But… What do we do if we leave first and the goods arrive later?" the first man asked coldly.
"Let's wait a little more, then. If the delivery still doesn't arrive, we'll head back immediately."
Wynter heard their every word clearly. She then crouched down slowly and led the lead smuggler back.
She glanced at him and asked, "Are they the ones?"
The lead smuggler scratched his head. "I really don't have any impression of them, but from the looks of it, it's most likely them. It would've been impossible for them to know the delivery location otherwise."
Wynter nodded slightly. "Understood."
With the information from the lead smuggler, her next course of action had become clear to her. However, she would need law enforcement rights to proceed.
They soon returned to the previous location.
Dalton took a few steps closer to Wynter upon seeing her return. "Did you discover anything?"
"I saw two people," Wynter replied calmly. "The clothes they wore belonged to the Maritime Administration, so the Administration is involved in this."
"It's good enough that we found out. We just have to wait for updates now. Once we gain law enforcement rights, we'll be able to take action in Havenia."
"Yes," Wynter replied before turning to address Wolf. "Stand watch here, Wolf. Someone will come by in a while. Hand these people over to them, and let them take the cultural relics away as well."
Wolf looked up. "Oh, okay."
Upon hearing this, Dalton suggested, "I'll remain here as well for now. After things are settled here, I'll head back to find you with Wolf."
Wynter nodded slightly. "Okay. Sadie still requires further acupuncture treatment. Otherwise, everything I did before will lose its effect. I'll head back first."
…
Meanwhile, Isidore was thinking of a way to absorb the Drakevein Pendant's energy without losing any of his own.
At that moment, a black-robed figure entered and reported, "As expected, your predictions are uncannily accurate, my lord. I've found the item you asked me to find."
Isidored looked up. "Let me see it."
The figure took a box out of his pocket. "It's right here."
Isidore took the box from him and opened it. When he saw the item inside, he smiled. "Not bad. With this item, dealing with them will be a cakewalk."
The box contained a spherical object. According to hearsay, the object was 100 percent effective at suppressing cultivators. Any cultivator below the rank of grand master would give this object a wide berth.
Seeing this, the robed figure asked in a low voice, "How should one use this item, my lord?"
"Anyone strong will be able to use it," Isidore replied, holding the wooden box tightly. "Now that I have this, they'll be sitting ducks."
The figure nodded. "With this item, you'll definitely gain greater power!"
"After following me for so long, you've certainly gained a glib tongue," Isidore said with a smile. "Don't worry. As soon as I ascend to that realm, I'll also make you a grand master."
The figure paused at that. "It doesn't matter to me whether I become a grand master or not. What's important to me is being able to stay by your side and complete the tasks you assign to me, my lord."
Isidore turned. "Very good. You're not being impatient. With a mentality like yours, there's no need to worry about your grand ambitions not working out!"
"It's you who taught me well, my lord. I wouldn't be who I am if not for you."
Isidore raised an eyebrow. "Alright, now. We can't afford to expose ourselves just yet. I asked you to find me a place that could conceal energy a few days ago. Did you find one?"
Hearing that, the figure's gaze sharpened. "I'm still looking. I'm afraid there are very few places like that."
"I know," Isidore looked up at him, "but without such a place, my whereabouts will be exposed the moment I forcibly absorb the Drakevein Pendant's energy again. Things would then become very difficult to handle."
The figure bowed slightly. "Alright, my lord. I'll definitely send out more people to continue the search."
"Go on. Wait…" Isidore trailed off, a thought suddenly occurring to him, then asked, "You told me you found that brat from the Quinnell family in the formation I set up last time, didn't you?"
The robed figure's expression darkened. "Yes. She was the one who sabotaged our plans last time. If it weren't for her, the plan would have already succeeded."
Isidore recalled the various things that had happened on the mainland before. Wynter looked like an ordinary person on the surface, arrogant and domineering, but his previous impression of her had been completely overturned.
He smiled. "Let her celebrate for a while, then. With this item, I'll have her suppressed, no matter what sort of cultivator she is."
The figure nodded vigorously. "You're wise indeed, my lord."
