Chapter 631 Cold Distance

A triumphant smile spread across Josie’s face, sly and bright, like a fox that had just snatched a sweet, and she immediately tugged on his arm, sliding into the passenger seat.
Only after settling in did she softly exhale, her heart still racing because she had honestly thought Harrison might stay angry with her this time.
She turned to look at him as he started the car, his profile sharp and distant, jaw locked tight, making it obvious he was still furious.
Josie knew better than to speak, so she stayed quiet, thinking that this man’s restraint was frighteningly strong.
Calming him down was clearly going to take effort.
When they got home later, she knew she couldn’t jump out right away and would have to set a little honey trap.
Who could have guessed-
They had barely driven out of the underground parking when Harrison stepped out of the car.
Another person got in instead, a hired driver by the looks of it.
Only then did Josie remember that both of them had been drinking and shouldn’t be driving.
She watched that stubborn man head to the back seat without saying anything, leaving her alone in front.
If he wasn’t driving, sitting up front felt meaningless.
“Wait, wait! I’m getting out too! I’m sitting in the back!”
Just as the driver prepared to leave, Josie jumped out and climbed into the rear seat.
She realized this was even better since she could get closer to him.
She deliberately leaned against him, clinging tightly, almost wrapping herself around him completely.
“Move over,” he said.
With the driver ahead, Harrison kept his voice low and told her to shift aside.
“No. I’m scared. What if I get thrown out?”
“Relax. My car’s solid and performs well.”
Unless she lost her mind and opened the door herself, there was no chance.
“Nope. Even the best cars get into accidents, so I’m staying safe.”
When chasing a man, pride only gets in the way, so Josie shamelessly stuck close to him.

His clean scent mixed with alcohol, sharp and overwhelming, unmistakably masculine.
“I’ll say it one more time. Move, or don’t blame me if I get rude.”
“You don’t need to be polite with me. You can do whatever you want. I don’t mind.”
Her face burned red, every word dripping with bold heat.
With looks like hers, most men wouldn’t hold out long.
The driver heard them and his ears turned red, forcing himself not to listen.
He was extremely professional.
He absolutely could not listen in or look back.
Harrison noticed the driver’s suppressed smile and felt awkward and powerless at the same time.
He wanted to choke this infuriating woman.
They struggled like that for a while, stubborn and tangled, until Harrison looked outside and realized they were close to the Hutton home.
So he told the driver, “Stop here.”
The driver didn’t question it and pulled over.
“You. Get out.”
“Me?” Josie pointed at herself, stunned. “You want me out?”
“Yes. Take a cab or walk.”
With that, Harrison politely opened the door for her and told her to leave.
Josie had been setting a trap, yet in an instant she was dumped out of the car, completely dazed.
By the time she reacted and tried to jump back in, the door slammed shut and the car sped off.
Josie was speechless.
That jerk was unbelievably annoying.
She stamped her foot, tears nearly spilling.
“How can he have such strong self-control? He doesn’t understand gentle beauty at all. He has no clue how wonderful a soft woman is!”
Was he just inexperienced, or was that the reason he didn’t understand women at all?
So annoying.

The readers' comments on the novel: The Heiress They Couldn't Break (Amelia and Jeremy)
I'm starting not to like Josie's character. If any man did all the things she's doing, they'd be considered creepy. This version of Josie is giving me the ick....
Does the novel ends in chapter 716 or is it still ongoing?...
Absolutely beautiful!...
Oh my! I really like Whitney (Jeremy's mum). She's so down to earth. She didn't even acknowledge Sabrina's presence....
I don't know what's with this new writer, but they are only making things worse. Gianna does in fact know how to ride a horse. She's had lessons and she even had a race with Amelia where she threw nails on the track to cheat. Gianna fell in the mud and was embarrassed when they pulled the cameras at a riding club owned by Jeremy....
Why did Cloudspire Estate change from a house to an apartment? Why is the writer acting like Jeremy does not own the property and he is not the one that allowed Amelia stay there? I hate when the writer does not remember what they wrote....
This is chapter 51 again when it should be chapter 52. Please fix for future readers....
New chapters please. If Amelia doesn’t end up with Jeremy I’m going to cry...
New chapters please....
