Not only was Amelia refraining from her usual frostiness, but she was actually smiling at them with genuine grace.
The brothers were ecstatic.
They practically wanted to rush home and tell their mother immediately, "Our sister is changing."
With troublemakers like Gianna and Regina nowhere in sight, the atmosphere was flawless.
Everyone was having a wonderful time.
Even Brielle, despite her lingering dislike for Amelia, wasn't so petty as to wreck the mood.
The place was buzzing, and everyone was having a great time. She was having too much fun to be bothered with petty drama.
On the contrary, Sabrina had been hoping Brielle would lose her temper or start a snide argument like she usually did.
But Brielle didn't look like she would start anything.
She was enjoying herself even more than the hosts, and the sight made Sabrina's blood boil.
She remembered the instructions Esmond and Regina had given her.
It looked like she would have to handle this herself.
However, deliberately approaching Amelia was proving difficult.
After playing the waiting game for a long time, Sabrina finally caught her chance.
Amelia had just returned from the restroom and stepped outside to the terrace to get some air.
"Happy birthday, Ms. Amelia."
Amelia turned at the sound of the voice and saw Sabrina standing there, dressed in soft pink.
"Mhm. Thank you. Were you looking for me?" Amelia asked, raising an eyebrow.
Choosing this moment for a private conversation hardly felt like idle chit-chat.
"Not really. You were surrounded earlier—I couldn't get a word in. Now that it's quiet..."
She trailed off, letting the implication hang.
"Oh?" Amelia's expression remained neutral. "And?"
She couldn't think of anything worth discussing with the eldest Jordan daughter.
"My grandmother and aunt came today. It's obvious they like you very much. I'm quite envious."
"There's nothing to envy. They treat you well, too."
"It still feels different. After all, you saved my grandmother's life. And my aunt is deeply grateful—she's always wanted to treat you like her daughter."
"Nydia is still very young. It wouldn't be appropriate for me to be her daughter," Amelia said, a faint sense of unease creeping in.
"You might not know this, but my aunt has never been able to conceive. She's always wanted a child of her own. I just hope you won't make fun of her for it."
"Why would I? I've never made fun of her. You're overthinking." Amelia scoffed softly.
She hadn't even known Nydia couldn't have children—she had assumed the woman had simply chosen not to.
Why would she suddenly bring up family secrets and speak with such pointed intent?
Did she really look like someone who spent her days plotting against others?
It was nothing like her usual composed demeanor.
When things grew this abnormal, something was always lurking beneath the surface.
Either she was always putting on a mask, or this was her true face.
Or she was putting on a show to set a trap.
Amelia crossed her arms, her gaze turning icy. "Sabrina, what are you actually trying to say? If you're done, I'm leaving. Don't waste my time."
She had no intention of playing a supporting role in Sabrina's one-woman show.
"Mhm. As long as you don't let your thoughts run wild," Sabrina smiled gently. "I won't keep the birthday girl from entertaining her other guests."
Without another word, she turned and walked back into the venue.
She knew Amelia was already suspicious; any further talk would only draw silence.
But it was enough. She had completed her task perfectly.
A fleeting, chilling smirk crossed Sabrina's lips before she slipped back into her fragile, harmless facade.
Amelia watched her retreat, eyes narrowing slightly.
She didn't know what kind of scheme Sabrina was plotting, and she couldn't be bothered to guess.
Whatever came her way, she would confront it head-on.

The readers' comments on the novel: The Heiress They Couldn't Break (Amelia and Jeremy)
I'm starting not to like Josie's character. If any man did all the things she's doing, they'd be considered creepy. This version of Josie is giving me the ick....
Does the novel ends in chapter 716 or is it still ongoing?...
Absolutely beautiful!...
Oh my! I really like Whitney (Jeremy's mum). She's so down to earth. She didn't even acknowledge Sabrina's presence....
I don't know what's with this new writer, but they are only making things worse. Gianna does in fact know how to ride a horse. She's had lessons and she even had a race with Amelia where she threw nails on the track to cheat. Gianna fell in the mud and was embarrassed when they pulled the cameras at a riding club owned by Jeremy....
Why did Cloudspire Estate change from a house to an apartment? Why is the writer acting like Jeremy does not own the property and he is not the one that allowed Amelia stay there? I hate when the writer does not remember what they wrote....
This is chapter 51 again when it should be chapter 52. Please fix for future readers....
New chapters please. If Amelia doesn’t end up with Jeremy I’m going to cry...
