Chapter 650 A Hidden Obstruction

Nydia’s body refused to cooperate. She had tried everything, yet nothing had worked. Now, her egg quality had even declined. Surrogacy was no longer an option. Needless to say, she was devastated.

“Mmm.” Amelia didn’t dance around it. “Your circulation is sluggish. Based on your labs and pulse, your egg quality is poor. But for your age, it shouldn’t be this bad. You’re also showing signs of premature ovarian decline.”

Amelia said it matter-of-factly. The subject might have felt humiliating, but to her, it was just medicine. Patients didn’t get better by flinching away from the truth. You faced it, worked through the fear, and fought.

“Yeah.” Nydia’s voice wavered. “Sabrina said the same thing. I’ve been doing her regimen for a long time, but it hasn’t helped.”

Saying it out loud made the disappointment hit even harder.

Even though she told herself there was no hope, the desire to have a child still burned inside her. Some stubborn part of her kept reaching for one last thread.

Especially now, watching Floyd grow brighter by the day-getting cuter, sweeter, and sharper. And Amelia, too—so capable and lovely. Anyone would look at girls like that and think, “I want an angel like that.”

But she didn’t need an angel. She’d take anything as long as it was hers. Exceptional or ordinary, it didn’t matter. She just wanted a child of her own.

Nydia let out a long breath, her brow was still pinched with worry. “Sometimes I can’t sleep,” she said quietly. “And I keep thinking If I’d started earlier, would things be different?”

There was a slight catch in her voice that she didn’t seem to notice. Her gaze drifted toward the window, unfocused, as if she were trying to find something far away and already out of reach.

Amelia listened without interrupting. In moments like this, people needed a place to open up.

Once Nydia’s breathing had steadied somewhat, Amelia spoke again, her voice calm yet precise. “You said Sabrina has been treating you. Can I see the formula she’s been giving you?”

With anyone else, Amelia might not have thought much of it.

But Sabrina?

Please. That woman wanted Nydia dead. Since when did she start helping her get healthy?

Nydia’s expression shifted as if she’d understood the unspoken point.

“Sabrina never gives me the prescription,” she said a little too quickly. “She says it’s proprietary

-something PharmaCore Ol hasn’t released. She said she had to beg her mentor to get it.

“She told me that her mentor specializes in fertility treatments and brings her the finished medicine every time. There’s no written formula.”

As she spoke, details she’d brushed off before began to pile up in her mind, neat and ugly. The more she thought about it, the colder she felt.

“It’s fine,” Amelia said easily. “The finished product works, too. I can tell what’s in it.”

Identifying herbs was her specialty. Even if they were pre-made, she could look at them, smell them, touch them, taste a trace of them, and know what they contained. She could even

estimate the proportions with frightening accuracy.

Nydia didn’t doubt her for a second. She’d seen what Amelia could do when her own mother was on the brink and every doctor was helpless. This girl had fixed what no one else could.

Without hesitation, Nydia got up and brought out everything Sabrina had given her.

Amelia examined each item carefully, one by one, turning them over in her hands and pausing to consider them. Nydia sat off to the side, silent. This was her chance, her body, her future. She could wait as long as it took.

After a long while, Amelia set the medicines down and looked up.

“Your condition shows signs of premature ovarian decline, and your egg quality isn’t good,” she said. “But like I said earlier, at your age, it shouldn’t be so hopeless.” Her tone sharpened slightly. “I suspect this isn’t just normal aging.”

“Not just aging?” Nydia’s head snapped up. Surprise and urgency flashed in her eyes. “Amelia, what do you mean?”

Amelia nodded once. She tapped the tabletop slowly and thoughtfully with her fingertip, and then she fell quiet for a moment.
