"Ignore him. Don't let it ruin your mood." Amelia brushed it off.
People who meant nothing to her were not worth her time or her memory.
Josie was still fuming. She paced back and forth in the office twice. "No. I can't swallow this.
"Who does Vincent think he is? Look at how he treated Gianna back then, and now he wants to crawl back to you? Does he think you're some kind of recycling bin? No way. I'm going to teach him a lesson.!"
Amelia tried to calm her down. "Don't act on impulse. Getting angry over someone like that isn't worth it. He sent flowers, I threw them away. That's enough.
"If you go look for him, he'll just think he actually matters."
Her tone was calm, flat as a lake.
She understood Vincent's bizarre confidence and his level of narcissism all too well.
Josie let herself be pulled back, plopping down angrily into her chair. Her chest was still heaving. "I just can't stand that smug, self-important face of his!"
She grabbed the water on her desk and gulped down a big mouthful, as if trying to force down her anger. "And Gianna isn't any better either. Those two really are made for each other. Trash attracts trash!"
Amelia gently patted the back of her hand. "Calm down. People like that aren't worth getting upset over."
Seeing how composed Amelia looked, Josie's anger finally eased a little, though she still muttered, "You're right. Letting people like that affect your mood really isn't worth it.
"Come on, I'm taking you out for a good meal. Consider it stress relief, and a celebration that that piece of trash is completely out of our sight!"
Amelia laughed. "Alright, but I'll treat you instead. A thank-you to my best "partner-in-crime" for standing up for me."
"Nope. I'm paying. It's decided!"
Josie slapped the table decisively, finally breaking into a relieved smile, as if the furious version of her from moments ago had never existed.
That was just how she was. Optimistic and open-minded. Her emotions flared quickly, but they faded just as fast.
The two of them headed out happily for dinner.
They had originally planned to ask Patience to join them, but that girl was either dating someone or had fully transformed into a workaholic.
Either way, they could never catch her. She was always "busy with something."
So in the end, it was just the two of them, off to enjoy their "candlelight dinner."
As soon as they sat down at the restaurant, Josie spotted a man walking toward them, holding an enormous bouquet of pink roses.
His face was partly obscured, so she could not tell who it was.
She poked Amelia's arm and tilted her chin. "Look at that guy. Sending flowers is one thing, but what's with making such a spectacle? And pink roses again."
"But I've completely broken off my engagement with Gianna. I'm free now. I hope you can give me a chance to make things right. I swear I'll treat you right for the rest of my life!"
Vincent looked deeply emotional as he delivered the speech he had rehearsed countless times, finally summoning the courage to say it to her face.
He felt his sincerity was overflowing, that it was in no way inferior to Jeremy's.
What he did not realize was that Amelia felt like she was about to throw up.
Did this man have no self-awareness at all, or was his confidence truly this outrageous?
On what basis did he think she would abandon Jeremy and choose someone like him?
That was exactly what she thought, and exactly what she said out loud. "Where do you get the confidence to think I would choose you?"
After saying it, she even felt she had been too polite.
Josie, standing beside her, looked so disgusted her eyes were about to roll out of her head.
Before she could unleash a full verbal assault on this shamelessly self-assured man, Vincent beat her to it.
"I know it's impossible for you to forgive me right away," he said earnestly. "But I truly mean it, and I hope you can feel my sincerity."

The readers' comments on the novel: The Heiress They Couldn't Break (Amelia and Jeremy)
I'm starting not to like Josie's character. If any man did all the things she's doing, they'd be considered creepy. This version of Josie is giving me the ick....
Does the novel ends in chapter 716 or is it still ongoing?...
Absolutely beautiful!...
Oh my! I really like Whitney (Jeremy's mum). She's so down to earth. She didn't even acknowledge Sabrina's presence....
I don't know what's with this new writer, but they are only making things worse. Gianna does in fact know how to ride a horse. She's had lessons and she even had a race with Amelia where she threw nails on the track to cheat. Gianna fell in the mud and was embarrassed when they pulled the cameras at a riding club owned by Jeremy....
Why did Cloudspire Estate change from a house to an apartment? Why is the writer acting like Jeremy does not own the property and he is not the one that allowed Amelia stay there? I hate when the writer does not remember what they wrote....
This is chapter 51 again when it should be chapter 52. Please fix for future readers....
New chapters please. If Amelia doesn’t end up with Jeremy I’m going to cry...
New chapters please....
