The Heiress They Couldn't Break (Amelia and Jeremy) novel Chapter 666

Chapter 666 Give Me a Chance

“Ignore him. Don’t let it ruin your mood.” Amelia brushed it off.

People who meant nothing to her were not worth her time or her memory.

Josie was still fuming. She paced back and forth in the office twice. “No. I can’t swallow this.

“Who does Vincent think he is? Look at how he treated Gianna back then, and now he wants to crawl back to you? Does he think you’re some kind of recycling bin? No way. I’m going to teach him a lesson.!”

Amelia tried to calm her down. “Don’t act on impulse. Getting angry over someone like that isn’t worth it. He sent flowers, I threw them away. That’s enough.

“If you go look for him, he’ll just think he actually matters.”

Her tone was calm, flat as a lake.

She understood Vincent’s bizarre confidence and his level of narcissism all too well.

Josie let herself be pulled back, plopping down angrily into her chair. Her chest was still heaving. “I just can’t stand that smug, self-important face of his!”

She grabbed the water on her desk and gulped down a big mouthful, as if trying to force down her anger. “And Gianna isn’t any better either. Those two really are made for each other. Trash attracts trash!”

Amelia gently patted the back of her hand. “Calm down. People like that aren’t worth getting upset over.”

Seeing how composed Amelia looked, Josie’s anger finally eased a little, though she still muttered, “You’re right. Letting people like that affect your mood really isn’t worth it.

“Come on, I’m taking you out for a good meal. Consider it stress relief, and a celebration that that piece of trash is completely out of our sight!”

Amelia laughed. “Alright, but I’ll treat you instead. A thank-you to my best “partner-in-crime” for standing up for me.”

“Nope. I’m paying. It’s decided!”

Josie slapped the table decisively, finally breaking into a relieved smile, as if the furious version of her from moments ago had never existed.

That was just how she was. Optimistic and open-minded. Her emotions flared quickly, but they faded just as fast.

The two of them headed out happily for dinner.

They had originally planned to ask Patience to join them, but that girl was either dating someone or had fully transformed into a workaholic.

Either way, they could never catch her. She was always “busy with something.”

So in the end, it was just the two of them, off to enjoy their “candlelight dinner.”

As soon as they sat down at the restaurant, Josie spotted a man walking toward them, holding an enormous bouquet of pink roses.

His face was partly obscured, so she could not tell who it was.

She poked Amelia’s arm and tilted her chin. “Look at that guy. Sending flowers is one thing, but what’s with making such a spectacle? And pink roses again.”

By now, she was already developing a physical aversion to pink roses.

Amelia followed her gaze. Before she could say anything, the man seemed to sense it and actually walked straight toward their table, bouquet in hand.

He stopped directly in front of Amelia, holding the flowers out like an offering.

“Amelia, I heard you were eating here, so I came to find you. These are for you. I think you’ll really like them.”

When Josie finally saw that it was Vincent, she was stunned speechless.

Then she let out a mocking laugh, looked him up and down, and spoke bluntly.

“Mr. Dester, where exactly does this delusional confidence of yours come from? The audacity is impressive. Do you not know that Amelia already has a boyfriend?

“And by the way, do you even know what kind of flowers she likes before you go around handing them out?”

The smile on Vincent’s face stiffened. He clearly had not expected Josie to be so merciless. He frowned and looked at her.

In the end, he swallowed it and did not say anything excessive.

After all, this woman was Amelia’s closest friend. It was better not to offend her easily.

Ignoring Josie, he looked directly at the woman he loved most and spoke to her with exaggerated gentleness and affection. “Amelia, I know I wasn’t good to you before. I know I was wrong.

‘I didn’t dare bother you before, because I knew my engagement made you jealous and hurt.

‘But I’ve completely broken off my engagement with Gianna. I’m free now. I hope you can give me a chance to make things right. I swear I’ll treat you right for the rest of my life!”

Vincent looked deeply emotional as he delivered the speech he had rehearsed countless times, finally summoning the courage to say it to her face.

He felt his sincerity was overflowing, that it was in no way inferior to Jeremy’s.

What he did not realize was that Amelia felt like she was about to throw up.

Did this man have no self-awareness at all, or was his confidence truly this outrageous?

On what basis did he think she would abandon Jeremy and choose someone like him?

That was exactly what she thought, and exactly what she said out loud. “Where do you get the confidence to think I would choose you?”

After saying it, she even felt she had been too polite.

Josie, standing beside her, looked so disgusted her eyes were about to roll out of her head.

Before she could unleash a full verbal assault on this shamelessly self-assured man, Vincent beat her to it.

“I know it’s impossible for you to forgive me right away,” he said earnestly. “But I truly mean it, and I hope you can feel my sincerity.”

The Heiress They Couldn’t Break

Chapter 667 A Surprise By Jeremy

Finished

Originally, Vincent had planned to book out the rotating restaurant on the top floor of the tallest building downtown and invite Amelia to dinner the next evening.

Unfortunately, she had already blocked his number, and he could not bring himself to wait until

tomorrow.

After finding out she was eating here today, he followed her over without hesitation.

At that moment, he pointed toward a skyscraper outside the window and spoke with exaggerated tenderness.

“Amelia, I bought every exterior billboard on the surrounding buildings because I want you to truly feel how important you are to me.”

As soon as he finished speaking, the building across from them lit up. Brilliant lights illuminated several massive words. “Amelia Nygard is the love of Vincent Dester’s life!”

Amélia was speechless.

The corner of her mouth twitched, her expression darkening instantly.

If this man wanted to play the lovesick hero, could he at least leave her out of it?

The moment Josie saw those attention-seeking words glaring outside, she nearly spit out the water in her mouth.

She fanned her mouth a couple of times, then finally exploded, “Vincent, are you dumb or something?

‘You actually pulled a stunt this painfully cheesy? Buying up all the building billboards? If you have that much money with nowhere to spend it, why not donate it to a charity and earn some good karma instead?

She placed her hands on her hips, bristling like an angry kitten, “Do you think Amelia needs this kind of nonsense to prove anything? Do you think this is some trashy romance drama? This is beyond embarrassing!”

The sudden “surprise” made Amelia’s skin crawl. She frowned deeply and looked at Vincent’s smug, self- satisfied face, her voice turning ice-cold as she said, “Vincent, can you stop doing these childish and ridiculous things? Do you think this will move me? On the contrary, it just makes me feel even more disgusted.”

She paused, her sharp gaze sweeping over him, “And my relationship with Jeremy is none of your business. You have no right to interfere, and I don’t need this kind of attention-seeking display to show how much you ‘care.

“Get lost. And take all this garbage down.”

Nearby diners were drawn in by the lights outside and the argument at the table. They watched the scene with amusement, casting curious or openly contemptuous looks their way.

Vincent’s expression froze. He hadn’t expected Amelia to react like this, nor Josie to roast him without
