I was pissed. Annoyed. Confused.

I did not know since when Charlotte in a short skirt around my brother had become a problem. Or why it bothered me that he had asked her out to lunch.
I’d asked her earlier what they’d spoken about. She’d mentioned I was the main topic. Nothing about him asking her to have lunch.
She was still gaping at me like I had something weird on my face.
“Wear pants next time,” I heard myself say. “What happened to those sweats you love wearing? Those were perfect.”
Exactly, those sweats would be perfect around my brother or any other man. Anything but those short skirts.
The more I opened my mouth, the more I wanted to punch myself in the face. It was her body. Her life. She didn’t need to wear sweats because I said so. But for some reason, the words were leaving my mouth before I had the chance to stop them.
Why the fuck was I acting like this? Because there was a possibility she liked him? Because I was afraid I would lose my best friend to my brother? Was that it?
The thought of her at lunch with Marco, her laughing the way she laughed with me-that thought made it hard for me to swallow.
I inwardly groaned. I needed to get my head checked out. This no sex thing clearly was messing with me. I needed to find a woman soon. Someone who would follow the new rules I’d set.
Without warning she grabbed a cup of water and threw it in my face.
“Fuck.” I growled. Water ran down my collar. Cold. Sharp. Deserved. “What was that for?”
She narrowed her eyes. “You needed a wake-up call. I can wear whatever the hell I want. From now on, I will be wearing the tiniest of skirts. Everywhere we go. Especially in front of Marco.
I wiped my face and watched her walk off.
I checked out her ass. Her hips.
I watched the walk.
I enjoyed the view.
“FUCK.”
Since when did I start watching her walk off and liking it?
Yeah, it’s definitely been too long since I’d had sex.

I fell back against the counter and groaned. I needed a drink. I needed a lap. I needed my brain to stop treating Charlotte Reid like a corner I had taken too late.
I left the suite before I followed her and demanded she removed all the skirts from her closet.
Would that be such a bad idea?
I sighed, opened the door and stepped outside.
I bounced straight into Nico Shaw.
Behind him: Blair. Olivia. Ivy.
Monaco’s surprise.
“What are you doing here?” I asked.
Well, that was a stupid question. He was also in the race. I think I was more surprised that everyone else was with him.
Nico laughed. “Olivia and Roman are here on their honeymoon and decided to come watch me race. I told them I’m going to beat your ass. Of course, that got Roman excited. He wants to see me beat you.”
