ARIA’S POV

I did not want Amelia to sit at home all day doing nothing. She needed to play with other kids and make new friends. So, I looked for a good school for her right away.

By the next morning, I found a great place. I dressed Amelia up in her favorite little outfit, put on my own clothes, and took her there.

People in the city said this was the absolute best kindergarten in the whole country. It was very fancy and cost a lot of money. But things were different for me now.

I had plenty of money in my bank account. I could easily pay for it. “Are we going to my new school, Mommy?” Amelia asked, holding my hand tightly as we walked down the steps.

“Yes, sweetie,” I told her, smiling down at her. “I want to give you the best life, and the cost does not matter at all.”

We were only going for a quick visit to register her, so I did not wear anything fancy. We both wore very plain, normal clothes.

When we got to the school office, the waiting room was full of parents. I sat down quietly on a chair and held Amelia’s small hand. I looked around the room.

All the other parents wore very flashy, expensive clothes. They had big gold jewelry, shiny watches, and luxury designer bags. “Look at her doll, Mommy,” Amelia whispered, pointing at a little girl across the room.

“Shh, sweetie, be quiet and wait patiently,” I whispered back.

I waited quietly for our turn. Soon, the parents before us finished their business. It was finally our turn. I stood up with Amelia and walked forward to the main desk.

But the lady at the desk completely ignored me. She looked right past my plain clothes. She turned her head, looked behind me, and called in a rich parent who was standing at the back.

“Next family, please come forward,” the lady said, waving the wealthy parent ahead.

I stopped moving. I felt very angry. I walked right up to her desk and knocked on the wood. “Excuse me,” I said, keeping my voice steady. “We were next in line. We have been waiting here for thirty minutes.”

The lady looked at my plain clothes with a mean, judgmental face. She thought I was poor. She thought I only came to check the high prices and run away.

“You have to wait, ma’am,” she said in a very rude, sharp voice. “These other families have real appointments and important business.”

My face felt hot with shame and anger. The other parents started to turn around and look at us. But I was not the weak. helpless girl from five years ago anymore. I would not let anyone look down on me or my child.

“We all want to register our kids here,” I said loudly so everyone could hear me. “You skipped me on purpose just because of my clothes. That is very bad manners and totally unprofessional.”

The lady mocked me, let out a loud sigh, and crossed her arms tightly over her chest. “Look, if you cannot wait like everyone else, maybe this is not the right school for your child. We only serve a special kind of people here. The fees are very high.”

“My mommy can pay for it!” Amelia shouted suddenly, stomping her little foot.

We started a big argument right there in the office. We went back and forth with loud words. The other parents started to whisper and stare at us like we were a circus show.

My heart was beating very fast, but I refused to back down.

Suddenly, the heavy front doors opened. A weakly woman walked inside with two big security guards walking right behind her. She looked very elegant, wearing a beautiful silk dress.

She walked straight to the front and demanded to see the head of the school right away. The rude desk lady changed her attitude instantly.

She stopped fighting with me and put on a big, fake smile. She ran over to the rich woman, bowing her head. “Welcome, madam! How can I help you today? Please come right this way.”

She treated her like a queen, completely ignoring everyone else in the room, even the flashy parents she liked before. The other people in the room started to whisper.

They wondered who this powerful lady was. But before the desk lady could lead her inside the private office, something shocked everyone.

The rich woman stopped walking. She looked straight at me, and her mouth opened wide in surprise. She walked right past the desk lady, came straight up to me with deep respect, and bowed her head.

“Good morning, Miss Aria,” the woman said in a very polite, loud voice. “It is a great honor to meet you here. How are you today?”

I just stood there, completely confused. I did not know this woman at all. I blinked and looked at her beautiful face. “I’m sorry… Do I know you?”

The woman smiled warmly and took my hand. “My husband is Fred, the acting CEO of your father’s company. He talks about your great leadership all the time! He has your picture in the family business files on his desk. I had no idea you were back in the city.”

The moment she said that, the whole room went dead silent. You could hear a pin drop. The rude desk lady turned completely pale. She looked like she had just seen a ghost. She was so embarrassed.

She realized she had just insulted the ultimate boss of the biggest company in the country. Fred’s wife saw that my face was tense. She looked around the room and frowned.

“Miss Aria, is everything okay? Did something happen here?”

“Actually, yes,” I calmly told her, looking straight at the desk lady. “This lady skipped us in line and told me that this school is only for a special kind of people because of my plain clothes.”

Fred’s wife became very angry. Her eyes flared. “What? How dare you!” she shouted at the desk lady. She marched straight into the main office, dragging the school boss out by his arm.

She reported the woman to the school boss immediately. “Do you know who this is?” Fred’s wife yelled at the boss. “This is Miss Aria. She owns the corporation that funds half of this district.”

Within five minutes, the school boss was sweating. He turned to the rude lady and pointed at the door. “You are fired, pack your things and leave this building right now.”

The desk lady began to cry. “Please, sir, I didn’t know. I am so sorry, Miss Aria.” she begged, but the security guards escorted

her out.

the boss turned to me, bowing many times. “Miss Aria, I am deeply sorry for this terrible mistake. Please, come into my office. We will give your daughter a full scholarship. We want you here.”

The boss begged me to stay, but I held my tread high and shook my head. “Thank you for firing her, but I will not put my child in this school. I do not want a mean, toxic environment for my daughter. Let’s go, Amelia.”
