Chapter 153
ARIA’S POV
The next morning, I woke up early and drove Amelia to her new kindergarten. I watched her run inside with a bright smile, eager to make new friends.
Once she was safe inside, I took a deep breath. It was time. I had not informed Fred or anyone else that I would be visiting the company today.
I wanted it to be a complete surprise. I got back into my car and drove to the headquarters. I was dressed in one of my new, sharp power suits with high heels.
When I walked through the grand glass doors of the building, I did not announce my name. I just strutted in quietly, looking like a random business associate or a wealthy client.
As I walked across the marble floor, I turned heads. Everyone stopped to look at me, whispering about the confident woman who had just walked in. I looked around the lobby and gasped softly.
The place looked much bigger and grander compared to the last time I was here years ago. The modern structure, the beautiful design, the glittering lights–I could barely believe that all of this belonged to me now.
It was my father’s legacy, and it was all mine. For a second, I felt very emotional, and tears pricked my eyes. But I quickly held myself together, wiped my face, and headed directly to the elevator.
I took the private elevator straight to the top floor where the acting CEO’s office was located. As I walked down the quiet hallway, I expected to face some major drama with his secretary.
Since I was keeping my return a secret, the secretary would obviously not know who I was and would try to stop me from entering. But surprisingly, when I reached the front desk, the secretary’s office was completely empty.
The large wooden door to Fred’s private office was slightly open. I walked past the empty desk and pushed the door open to step inside.
The moment I looked up, I saw something that left me in total, absolute shock.
A young lady, whom I assumed to be the missing secretary, was sprawled face–down across Fred’s massive desk. Her skirt was pushed up, and Fred was standing right behind her, pounding into her from behind.
The air in the room was heavy with their loud, breathless gasps. I gasped loudly, freezing at the doorway. The sudden noise made them both snap their heads toward me.
They froze, completely shocked to see someone standing there. Fred’s face turned instantly white, but the secretary, who still had no idea who I was, quickly pulled her skirt down and glared at me with a very smug look.
She was not embarrassed at all. In her mind, she thought I was just a random, junior employee who had made a mistake. Why should she be scared of a regular worker when she had the most powerful man in the building backing her up?
The lady crossed her arms and cursed at me loudly. “Are you blind? Who gave you the right to just walk into the CEO’s office without knocking? You just interrupted an important private meeting!”
I didn’t say a word. I just stared at her, an icy smile forming on my lips. “Why are you just standing there looking stupid?” the secretary sneered, stepping closer to me.
She called me several bad names and pointed a sharp finger at my face. “Listen to me, you little intern. If you say a single word about anything you saw in this room today, I will make sure you lose your job before lunch. I can get you fired with one phone call. Now get out!”
While she was busy insulting and threatening my life, Fred was behind her, fumbling shamelessly with his belt. His hands were shaking so hard he could barely loop the leather through his pants.
He looked up, met my cold eyes, and completely lost his strength. His knees buckled, and he dropped straight to the floor like he had just seen a terrifying ghost.

Chapter 153
“M–Miss… Miss Aria…” Fred choked out, his voice trembling so much he could barely form the words.
The secretary stopped talking. She looked down at Fred on his knees, then looked back at me, completely confused. “Fred? Why are you on your knees? Who is this woman?”
I let out a dark, sinister chuckle that echoed through the room. I didn’t waste my breath talking to either of them. I stepped backward, grabbed the heavy office door, and slammed it shut with a loud bang.
I immediately walked down to the administrative desk, picked up the corporate phone, and called for an instant, emergency board meeting in the main conference room.
I ordered every single board member to assemble within ten minutes. When the meeting began, the large conference table was packed with the company’s top directors.
Fred was sitting at the lower end of the table, shaking so violently it looked like he was about to pee his pants right there in his suit. I sat at the head of the table, looking at him with pure irritation and disgust.
To think that just yesterday, I had met his sweet, loyal wife at the school. She was out there protecting his name, while he was inside the office behaving like a dog.
I leaned forward, resting my hands on the table, and looked at the board members.
