The Hockey Roommate's Filthy Desire novel Chapter 155

Chapter 155

JULIAN’S POV

When I saw Aria standing outside the gates of the hockey rink, my heart stopped. I couldn’t believe my eyes. For days, I had been losing my mind trying to find her, and suddenly, there she was, standing right in front of me. I had quickly ordered my men to open the gates and let her in, expecting her to yell at me, curse me out, or demand answers.

But a slap? I never saw that coming.

The sharp sound of her palm hitting my face echoed through the quiet parking lot. My head snapped to the side, and I just stood there, completely frozen, holding my red, burning cheek.

Shock was completely evident in my eyes as I looked down at her. What the hell is your problem, Aria?I managed to ask, my voice rough as I tried to process the stinging pain. You just walk in here and hit me?Aria let out a harsh, mocking laugh, stepping closer until she was right in my face. My problem? You deserve more than that, you bastard. Don’t act like you don’t know what you did, Julian. Why the hell would you blackmail my employee into lying to me just to get me back to the city?

I stared at her, totally lost. What are you talking about? Blackmail who?

Was that how desperate you were?she shouted, her voice shaking with absolute rage. Have you turned into a psycho now? Why can’t you just respect my decision and stay out of my life? When you sent me out of your life years ago, I respected your decision and walked away. Why couldn’t you do the same now? Why couldn’t you take what you dished out?

Aria, calm down and talk to me,I said, reaching a hand out toward her, but she stepped back defensively.

Don’t tell me to calm down.she screamed, tears of anger gathering in her eyes. You targeted my family’s company. You made me think everything was ruined.

I was completely surprised by the heavy accusation. I didn’t interrupt her anymore. I stood my ground and let her scream, let her vent, and let her pour out all the hot anger she had been carrying for days.

When she was finally done, her chest heaving as she glared at me with pure hatred, I took a deep breath and stepped closer.

Aria, I swear to you, I don’t know what you are talking about,” I said, looking directly into her eyes so she could see my sincerity.

Yes, I want you back. Yes, I am trying to make things right between us. But I would never do things to make you hate me more. You made it very clear that you didn’t want to be disturbed, and I have been respecting your wishes. Why would I do something like that, especially to your company? I know exactly how much your father’s legacy means to you. I would never touch it.

Aria scoffed loudly, her eyes flashing with disbelief. You are a liar, Julian. A pathetic, desperate liar. You expect me to believe you didn’t do this?

I’m telling the truth, Aria! Look at me. Why would I lie about this now?I insisted.

Oh, really? Well, I have proof,” she snapped.

Without breaking eye contact, she snatched her phone out of her pocket and aggressively dialed a number. She set the phone to speaker mode, her tone firm and stern as the line connected.

The call picked up, and Fred’s terrified, trembling voice came through the speaker. MMiss Aria? Please, II’m already packing my things

Talk Fred,” Aria commanded coldly, cutting him off. Tell the person standing in front of me exactly who threatened you. Who took those pictures and forced you to lie to me about the stocks dropping?

Fred was stuttering violently on the other end of the line, his breath catching in his throat. Itit wasit was Mr. Vance, ma’am. He said he would ruin me and post the pictures everywhere if I didn’t do it. He wanted you

back in the city.

Before Fred could say another word, Aria slammed her finger on the screen, ending the call. She shoved the phone back into her bag and glared at me with enough fury to burn the entire stadium down.

Mr. Vance, she hissed, her voice dripping with venom. Do you still want to play innocent, Julian?

I froze. Mr. Vance. That was my name. That was me. But I knew with absolute certainty that I hadn’t done this.

I hadn’t touched her company, and I didn’t blackmail anyone.

My mind raced, trying to figure out who would use my name to pull a stunt like this. Except my father.

The terrifying possibility suddenly dawned on me.

He had the power, he had the resources, and he definitely had the motive to interfere in my life again. I opened my mouth quickly to explain. Aria, listen to me. You have to listen to me, that wasn’t-

But it was too late. Before I could even finish his sentence, Aria had already turned on her heel and was storming away toward her car, cursing my ass out with every step she took.

Leave me the hell alone, Julian.she yelled over her shoulder, her voice echoing across the pavement. Stay away from me and my daughter, or I swear to God I will have you arrested. Don’t ever come near us again.

Aria, wait! Let me explain.I shouted, running a few steps after her.
