Chapter 156
JULIAN’S POV
When I got to the family mansion, I didn’t bother greeting any of the staff there. I barged through the grand front doors, my blood boiling, and headed straight for the study.
I found my father sitting comfortably in his leather chair, watching the news and sipping calmly from a glass of wine. He looked so relaxed, so utterly untouched by the chaos he had caused, that it made me want to rip the room apart.
I furiously stormed over to his desk. “What the hell did you do?” I demanded, slamming my fist against the edge of the wood. “Answer me.”
My father didn’t even flinch. He acted like he didn’t know what I was talking about, casually raising his glass to his lips and proceeding to watch the news broadcast as if I were nothing more than an annoying fly.
Losing the last bit of my patience, I snatched the remote from the desk, turned the television off, and slammed both of my hands hard onto the mahogany surface, leaning into his face.
“Look at me when I’m talking to you.” I roared. “Why the hell would you blackmail Aria’s employee and make him lie to her?”
My father set his wine glass down slowly, completely unbothered by my outburst. He leaned back in his chair, folding his hands over his chest, and looked at me with cold, judging eyes.
“I did nothing much, Julian,” he said, his voice smooth and completely devoid of guilt.
“I found an opening, and I seized it. Besides, that so–called employee of hers was already a parasite. The man was embezzling her company funds and sleeping with the workers behind his wife’s back. I just used his weak point to get him to do what I wanted. If you look at it from my perspective, I did her a fucking favor.” “That is not the fucking point, and you know it.” I shouted, shaking with rage.
“What did you intend to gain from this twisted plot? Aria is absolutely furious right now. She came to the rink, she slapped me in front of my own security, and she thinks I am the one ruining her life. That wasn’t what I wanted at all.”
My father let out a harsh, mocking laugh, standing up from his chair to look down at me. “She slapped you? And you just stood there and took it? You really are pathetic, Julian. Look at how weak you have become because of a woman. You are crying over a slap while I am out here playing the game for you.”
“I don’t play dirty games with the woman I love.”
“Stop being a jerk, Julian.” my father snapped, his voice suddenly turning like ice.
“It doesn’t matter if she is angry right now. She’s a woman. Lie to her and she’ll get over it. What matters now is that Aria is finally back in town, exactly where we need her. You are too soft to do what needs to be done. You need to grow a spine, go out there, and bring my grandchild to me. Do it now, or I will gladly do it the hard way. And trust me, she won’t like my way.”
A dangerous chill ran down my spine, and I leaned in even closer, my eyes locking onto his with raw hatred. You wouldn’t dare touch them. If you go near them, I swear to God…”
“You’ll what?” he challenged, raising an eyebrow. “You have nothing without this family, Julian. Don’t forget that.”
“Listen to me very carefully,” I hissed, my voice dropping to a deadly whisper that shook the room.
”
“Stay the fuck away from my life, and stay the hell away from Aria. I am going to win Aria back, but I am going to do it my own way. Stop making these impulsive decisions for me, because your dirty games keep jeopardizing my chances with her. If you ruin this for me, I will burn everything down.”
Without waiting for his reply, I turned around, stormed out of the study, and marched straight back to my car.
I slammed the door, started the engine, a

different ways to fix this.
I needed peace, I needed space, but the moment I walked through my front door, the universe decided to hand me another headache.
The rich aroma of roasted chicken and garlic filled the air. Leonie was standing by the dining table, carefully setting down a silver platter. She was wearing a beautiful silk dress, her hair perfectly styled.
The moment she heard my heavy footsteps, she turned around and smiled brightly, acting as if nothing was happening in the world.
“Welcome home, Julian,” she greeted me, her voice sweet and cheerful. “You’re just in time. I made your favorite dinner. I knew you’d be exhausted after practice, so I wanted to make sure…”
“Get out,” I cut her off, my voice dead and utterly cold.
Leonie’s smile froze, her hands stopping over the dinner plates. “Julian? What’s wrong? Why are you looking at me like that? Come sit down, let’s just eat and talk about…”
“I said, get the hell out of my house,” I repeated, walking straight up to her. I didn’t want to play nice anymore. I didn’t want to pretend. “I don’t want you in my space anymore, Leonie. Not today, not tomorrow, not ever.” Leonie blinked in surprise, her eyes instantly welling up with tears. “Julian, what are you talking about? This is our home. We are supposed to be building a life together. Why are you treating me like a stranger?” “We were never a thing, Leonie, and we both know it,” I said, staring down at her with complete disgust. “You used my parents to manipulate me. You ran to them every time I ignored you, using them to force me into getting exactly what you wanted. I am completely done with it. I am telling my lawyers to serve you the divorce papers first thing in the morning. Pack your things and leave tonight.”
The moment the word ‘divorce‘ left my mouth, Leonie went into full dramatic mode. She dropped a silver fork onto the table with a loud clatter and burst into loud, hysterical tears.
“Divorce? No. You can’t do this to me, Julian.” she screamed, throwing her hands over her face as she sobbed loudly. She tried to reach out and grab my jacket.
“I love you. I’ve done everything for you. You can’t throw me away for her. She left you. Aria doesn’t care about you.” I didn’t pay a single bit of attention to her theatrics.
I stepped back, avoiding her touch as if she were poison. I walked right past her and headed upstairs to my bedroom, leaving her crying and screaming my name at the bottom of the stairs.
I needed to wash the dirt of this day off my body. I went into the bathroom, stripped out of my clothes, and took a long, hot shower, leaning my head against the cold tile as the water poured over me.
A few minutes later, I tied a towel around my waist and stepped out of the bathroom. Just as I crossed the bedroom floor, my phone on the nightstand began to ring loudly. I walked over and snatched it up, seeing the name on the screen.
It was Brandon. I pressed the phone to my ear, exhaling a rough breath. “Brandon, not now, I am really not in the mood…”
“Julian, how the hell could you be so blind?” Brandon’s frustrated voice barked through the receiver, cutting me off immediately. “How did you not see what your father was up to?”
