bering Leatre fudifud face, Arthur couldn’t help but chick his tongue in amusement.
Hestly, just one kies and she’s blushing, like crazy. Does she not realize? Every beastman out there has a hundred tricks up In dress
They’ll do anything to keep a female happy, pulling out every move they’ve got just to see her smile.
And beastmen are nothing if not crafty, they’ve got all sorts of ways to get what they want.
Don’t be fooled by Marshal brake acting all sweet and devoted. Who knows what he’s really plotting behind that charming emile: Arthur used to himself.
We’re all beastmen here, who doesn’t know each other’s tricks? Arthur mused to himself.
Oh, Lex, you clueless little thing. You really do make me worry: Arthur sighed inwardly.
Watching Lene blush, Arthur couldn’t help but sigh to himself. He was honestly worried she’d get played by all those beastmen and their smooth talk, and end up completely lost.
But when it comes to matters of the heart, only those involved muly know how it feels. There’s really nothing more I can say: Arthur thought to himself.
All I can do is hope Lex keeps her kindness and optimism, and doesn’t let these beastmen with all their tricks mess with her, Arthur worried inwardly.
Still, as long as I’m here, nobody in this world will ever get away with hurting her, Arthur promised himself.
Just as Arthur was lost in his own thoughts, Prince Nelson, who’d been standing off to the side, watching the drama unfold, strode over.
He stopped right in front of Lexe, but before he could get a word out, Arthur cut in first.
“Hey, hold up. Let me say this first. You and Lexie just aren’t a good match. You’re always scheming, while Lex’s as pure as they come.
“You’re ruthless, but Lex’s a sweet, kind–hearted female.
“You’re just i. it right for her, you don’t deserve her. So, Prince Nelson, for Lex’s sake, I can’t let you be with her,” Arthur said hrmly
Nelson shot Arthur a cold look, ignoring him. Then he crouched down in front of Lexic, meeting her gaze at eye level.

Chapter 116
Tesic bis voice low,
Yeah, that’s me. What’s up? Lexie replied, her brows farrowing confusion.
Im Prince Nelson of the Atherton Federation Can we talk alot for a moment? Nebon asked, his voice deady
“Just the two of us?” Lexie asked, her eyes widening in surprise.
Lexie was still watering, unsure if the should say yes, when Auddenly grabbed her hand, pulling her hack and making sure she didn’t get anywhere near Nelson.
“Lex, don’t pay him any mind. Austin said, protective and resolute.
Hearing Austin’s words, Nelson just shot him a cool glance before speaking in a low, serious voice.
“Austin, I know you care about her and want to protect her. But you need to think this through. Once we get off this island, Lexie’s real identity won’t be a secret anymore.
“Once everyone finds out who she really is, even if you’re the one who owns the artificial female bot, Lexie doesn’t truly belong to the Federation, and she’s not part of the Empire either
“So when that happens, the Federation and the Empire are definitely going to be at each other’s throats over where Lexie should end up. There’s no way they won’t fight over her, maybe even start a war.
“And if we want to keep the peace between the Federation and the Empire, there’s no way her mate won’t be someone from the Federation.
“Austin, since you know the Federation inside out, tell me, who in the royal family do you honestly think is good enough for Lexie?” Nelson said, his words carrying a clear edge of threat.
Nelson’s loaded question made Austin’s expression turn stormy. He locked eyes with Nelson, like he was trying to read his every thought.
“Is that a threat, Nelson? You really think you’re the only one in the Federation who can run the show?” Austin shot back, his voice icy.
Nelson just gave a faint, unconcerned smile, clearly not taking Austin’s words too seriously.
“You’re mistaken, Austin. This isn’t a threat, I’m just laying out the facts.
“Lexie’s identity is one of a kind. Where she belongs isn’t just her business, it’s a matter of peace between the Federation and the Empire.
“I bet you wouldn’t want to see the Federation and the Empire go to war over Lexie, right?” Nelson said, his tone calm but unmistakably pointed.
Austin fell silent. He knew Nelson wasn’t just making empty threats, there was real weight behind his words.
Lexie’s identity was a total powder keg. If things went sideways, it could very well spark a war between the Federation and the Empire.
If the Federation and the Empire really went to war, there’d be untold casualties. That was the last thing Austin ever wanted.
With that thought, Austin’s expression grew troubled as he looked at Lexie, worry clouding his eyes.
Lexie met Austin’s worried gaze, then turned to see Nelson looking at her with a faint, knowing smile.
She let out a long, quiet sigh to herself, then pushed herself up from the ground.
