Honestly, Lexie instinctively doubted Nelson. But when she met his genuine gaze, the look in his eyes was so real it made her doubts fade away.
There was a kind of sincerity in Nelson’s eyes that couldn’t be questioned, it was like every word he said was a promise straight from his heart.
Just as Lexie was still unsure, Nelson let out a long sigh.
He stepped closer and gently took her shoulders in his hands, the pressure just right, not too much to make her uncomfortable, but enough to show her how serious he was.
His voice was low and gentle, like he was soothing a scared child.
He said, “Lex, please believe me. Everything I’m saying is true. My feelings for you have never been a joke, and I’ve never lied to you.
You really are my fiancée. Before you lost your memory, we were truly in love.
You told me you loved me and wanted to be with me.
‘After you got pregnant with Kaelen’s egg, Marshal Drake and I stayed by your side on the Merfolk Island for five whole months, just to keep you safe.
‘Lex, I’m sure the High Priest from the Snow Wolf Clan must’ve already told you about what happened between you and the Merman King.
‘Lex, you have to believe me. Even if you can’t remember, my love for you is real, it’s always been real.
‘If you don’t believe me, it’ll break my heart. Lex, please, I’m begging you, just trust me, okay?”
Hearing Nelson say all that, Lexie looked down at her hand resting on his chest. Still a little dazed, she felt the firm muscles beneath her palm and, almost without thinking, gave them a little squeeze.
‘Damn, he’s really solid. And that body? Seriously top–tier,’ Lexie thought to herself.
Nelson was the Crown Prince of the Aetherion Federation, rich, handsome, and powerful. Most importantly, he looked at her like she was the only one in his world.
With a guy like that, and knowing she was a sucker for handsome guys and couldn’t resist money, no wonder she’d fall for
him.
That’s what Lexie kept telling herself, but even so, with her memory gone, she couldn’t help but feel unsure about everything Nelson said.
Seeing Lexie still doubted him, Nelson gently pulled her hand and slid an enormous ring onto her finger,
He said, “Lex, didn’t you say that if I ever wanted to propose, I’d have to bring you the most gorgeous and priceless ring in
the universe?
“This ring is made from Starshine Stone. I promise, there’s not another one like it anywhere in the interstellar zone.
“Just like you wanted, I’m here with this ring, asking you to marry me. Will you say yes?”
Nelson held out the ring, and Lexie slid it onto her finger, it was a perfect fit, almost like it was made just for her.

Chapter 163
Wow, he really did have this ring made for me,‘ Lexie thought, a little surprised.
Wait, did I actually say something like that before I lost my memory?‘ she wondered.
Seeing Lexie quietly puzzling over the ring, a glimmer of something dark flashed in Nelson’s eyes.
Of course, Lexie had never said those words to him. She’d actually said them to Austin.

Back then, Lexie told Austin that when she finally left the Merfolk Island and returned to the Aetherion Empire, he had to propose with the most stunning ring in the universe.
She explained that in her hometown, proposals always came with a ring, so if she ever got married, she wanted a beautiful engagement ring too.
At the time, Nelson was hiding in the shadows, overhearing Lexie and Austin’s conversation, and he couldn’t help but feel a stab of envy.
Austin was like a block of ice, zero EQ, and everything about him was stiff and old–school.
Seriously, how did a guy with no emotional skills at all manage to win Lex’s heart?‘ Nelson thought, feeling both frustrated and jealous.
Everyone knew Lexie was into Austin.
If one asked who Lexie loved most in this world, it would definitely be Austin.
Hearing Lexie tell Austin he had to propose with a ring filled Nelson with pure bitterness.
But even more than that, he was jealous.
So, in secret, he had this Starshine Stone ring made, always wondering, ‘Maybe someday, I’ll get to give this ring to Lex myself.
He never imagined that, because of Lexie’s temporary amnesia, he’d finally get his chance to give her the ring today.
Sure, he was using the words Lexie had said to Austin, but the ring itself was something he’d prepared for her long ago.
From the moment he had the ring made, Nelson knew deep down that his feelings for Lexie weren’t just about advantage or convenience anymore.
He, the coldest and most calculating Crown Prince of the Aetherion Federation, who always put his own interests first, had actually fallen for a female.
It wasn’t about using her or any ulterior motive, it was just genuine, uncomplicated feelings.
When Nelson finally admitted to himself that he truly cared for Lexie, his heart was in turmoil.
He’d always thought that, growing up in the cutthroat world of the Aetherion Federation, he’d never care about anyone beyond their value to him.
He didn’t even love himself, so how could he ever love someone else?
But now, Nelson knew for sure, he had truly fallen for Lexie, and there was no denying it.
So when Nelson saw Lexie holding the ring, looking all puzzled, he was practically sweating bullets.
