Yes,the High Priest replied.

Ignoring Kaelis’s look, equal parts confusion and scrutiny, the High Priest fixed his gaze on the vast blizzard outside, his mind wandering off to distant places.

Ever since he could remember, inheriting the memories of all the High Priests before him, he’d always had a clear sense of his own desires.

While the High Priests before him sought to claim what they wanted, everything he longed for was something he built with his own hands.

His mate, Lexie, was someone he’d brought over from another world, pouring his heart and soul into making it happen.

At first, he’d brought her here to save a world on the brink of collapse.

But after truly getting to know Lexie, the High Priest realized he wasn’t just saving a world, he was saving his own happiness.

As if something had just occurred to him, the usually aloof and otherworldly High Priest found his lips curving into a faint, almost imperceptible smile.

Seeing the smile on the High Priest’s face, Kaelis was shocked at first, but what lingered was a deep sigh.

Looks like even the High Priest isn’t immune to matters of the heart, Kaelis thought to himself.

But I wonder how Lexie is doing right now. Has she run into Nelson from the Aetherion Federation yet?Kaelis thought to himself.

And when is she ever coming back to the Snow Wolf Clan?he couldn’t help but wonder.

Meanwhile, as Lexie blinked awake, she found herself standing on a busy street packed with traffic and people.

Staring at the futuristic sights all around her, so far beyond anything she’d ever imagined, Lexie was completely overwhelmed.

The buildings, the vehicles, even the way people dressed were totally different from anything she’d ever known.

Neon lights flickered, skyscrapers soared overhead, and aerial craft zoomed through the sky. Lexie couldn’t help but think, Everything here is so strange and newWhere am I?

Lexie just stood there, totally stunned in the middle of the bustling street, lifting her head and looking around, trying to take it all in and wrap her mind around this whole new world.

But confusion and anxiety stuck to her like glue, her nerves shot. She had no clue where she was, or how she’d gotten here.

This place is so weirdand kind of awesome, Lexie thought to herself.

As an aerial craft zipped past her, Lexie instinctively stepped back, then turned her gaze to the huge screen up ahead.

On the screen, a delicatelooking female was being shown on repeat. Hearing the broadcast, Lexie realized the female on

the screen was also called Lexie.

But what really puzzled her was why the broadcast claimed that this Lexie was the only female in the entire world.

Lexie stared at the delicate face on the screen, and she couldn’t shake the feeling she’d seen that face somewhere before.

Wait, isn’t that justme?she thought to herself.

As if something suddenly clicked, Lexie turned to look at her reflection in the glass behind her. In the reflection, she saw herself, stunningly beautiful.

Ever since she came to, Lexie couldn’t shake the feeling that her own face was strangely unfamiliar.

She was pretty sure she wasn’t supposed to look like this, definitely not this beautiful.

But when she saw the other Lexie on the screen, she felt like that was probably her real face.

So how did my face change?Lexie thought, totally baffled.

Just as Lexie was lost in thought, staring at her reflection, she suddenly heard an excited voice call out from behind her.

Lexiesomeone called out, their tone full of surprise and joy.

Startled, Lexie spun around and saw a beastman in casual clothes standing there, looking at her with wide, eager eyes.

Even though this beastman was dressed in simple, casual clothes, there was no hiding the regal vibe he gave off.

And when Lexie looked at his strikingly handsome face, she couldn’t shake the feeling that he seemed oddly familiar.

Wait, do I know him?Lexie wondered to herself.

But digging through her memories, she was sure she’d never met this beastman before. His deep, penetrating eyes felt like they could see right through her, and the faint, gentle smile on his lips made her feel a subtle warmth, like a soft spring breeze.

As Nelson walked over from the other side, he saw Lexie turn around, and his smile grew even brighter.

He hurried over to her, his eyes shining with both excitement and concern.

Lexie, I finally got to see you! Do you have any idea how long I’ve been waiting for you?

It’s been so long since we last met, and I’ve missed you so much. Welcome to the Aetherion Federation, Lexie,Nelson said, his voice full of warmth.

Even though Lexie didn’t recognize Nelson at all, she could feel the sincerity in his gaze, it was like his eyes were speaking straight to her heart.

She asked quietly, her voice a little unsure, Um, do youknow me?

Hearing Lexie say that, Nelson’s brows furrowed with concern and confusion.

What’s going on? It’s only been two months since we last met.

Has she really forgotten me after just a short time apart?

Did something happen to her?Nelson worried to himself.

Seeing Nelson’s worried frown, Lexie pointed to her head, looking a bit awkward.

Uh, I’m dealing with some temporary memory loss for some reason. Sorry about that, I don’t really recognize you,she

You lost your memory? Out of nowhere? Lexie, you were totally fine before!Nelson blurted out, his voice full of concern.

I’m not really sure myself,” Lexie admitted. The High Priest said it’s because I’m still pretty weak, plus some stuff that happened on the outside.

But it’s not a big deal, he said I’ll get my memory back after some time,Lexie added.

When Nelson heard that, his eyes lit up instantly.

She’s lost her memory? Ha! This is just too good to be true,Nelson thought, unable to hide his excitement.
