Chapter 168

Nelson knew his status wasn’t as prestigious as Lexie’s, but come on, he was still the Crown Prince of the Aetherion Federation! He wasn’t some nobody the way these Grand Justices made him out to be, like he was dirt under their feet.
Those Grand Justices, who usually acted all high and mighty, were now gossiping like a bunch of busybodies, badmouthing him in every way possible while showering Lexie with endless praise.
He could handle them complimenting Lexie, she was incredible, and he loved that about her. But did they really have to make him look like a total loser? How was he supposed to keep his dignity in front of Lexie?
He’d never been put down like this before, never had anyone talk about him this way.
But with all those Grand Justices watching, and since it was his wedding, Nelson couldn’t afford to show even a hint of dissatisfaction. He just had to force himself to sit through their endless nagging.
If he so much as showed a hint of displeasure, those Grand Justices, with palms the size of fans, would smack him on the head without mercy.
So, he just had to suck it up.
Seeing Nelson looking so frustrated, Lexie, who hadn’t understood at first, finally started to realize what was going on.
This was supposed to be her wedding, not some kind of roast session for Nelson. Even if the Grand Justices meant well, some of the stuff coming out of their mouths…
Yeah, that was really crossing the line.
Since she was about to marry Nelson, it meant she was committing to spend her life with him.
If she just let these Grand Justices put him down in front of everyone at their wedding, how were they supposed to live together after this?
Thinking that, Lexie cleared her throat at just the right moment, letting the Grand Justices know they’d gone far enough.
When Lexie cleared her throat, it finally hit the Grand Justices that they’d gone overboard, and they instantly went silent.
They’d been so caught up in giving Nelson a hard time that they’d forgotten all about the actual ceremony.
After that, the Grand Justices finally stopped picking on Nelson and wrapped up the wedding in a formal, no–nonsense way for Lexie and Nelson.
Normally, after the wedding, the bride and groom would be sent off to their bridal chamber.
But this time, that didn’t happen.
Just as the ceremony ended, the Grand Justice at the front stepped up to Lexie, pressed a shimmering rainbow gemstone to her forehead, and spoke in a deep, solemn voice.
“Lex, you still haven’t recovered yet. It’s time for you to head back to the Snow Wolf Clan and take care of yourself, the Grand Justice said.
“And don’t forget, the Judicial Hall is always behind you. If that punk Nelson ever tries to mess with you, we’ll be there to stand up for you.
“Go on now, Your Highness, our esteemed Light Goddess…” he continued.

Chapter 168
“What? Go back?” Lexie exclaimed, completely stunned.

Before she could react, her vision clouded over and she lost all control as her body was pulled backward into the mist.
When Lexie regained consciousness, she instantly recognized her surroundings, she was back with the Snow Wolf Clan.
Lexie walked up to the mirror, staring at her lavish gown and the crown perched on her head, no way, this wasn’t some dream. This was all real.
The wedding between her and Nelson had actually happened.
But seriously, she’d just tied the knot with Nelson, why did those Grand Justices immediately ship her back here?
And what was up with that Grand Justice calling her the “Light Goddess” right before she left?
‘Light Goddess? Me? More like a crazy goddess, Lexie thought, rolling her eyes at herself.
As Lexie kept grumbling to herself, her gaze landed on the sparkling gemstone on her forehead, and she instinctively reached up to touch it.
This was the same gem one of the Grand Justices had pressed onto her before she left. Lexie brushed her fingers over it, and it felt like it had fused with her skin, almost as if it was now part of her.
She moved closer to the mirror for a better look, and sure enough, the gemstone seemed to have completely merged with
her skin. It looked like it was never coming off.
Maybe it was the whole wedding ordeal, or maybe her body was just too worn out to handle it.
As Lexie lowered her hand from her forehead, everything went dark for her. She was so exhausted, she could barely keep her eyes open.
‘Man, I’m just dead tired, Lexie thought, feeling completely drained.
In a haze, Lexie collapsed onto the bed and drifted off, sinking into a deep, dream–filled sleep.
Meanwhile, the moment the wedding ended, Nelson’s face darkened as he watched the Grand Justices ship Lexie off back to the Snow Wolf Clan
Yeah, he and Lexie were married now, but they still hadn’t formed a bond. Without that, she wasn’t truly his yet.
He’d only managed to dupe her into marrying him while she was suffering from amnesia. If she ever got her memories back and realized he’d tricked her, she’d totally hate his guts.
Nelson had been hoping to seal the deal tonight, but thanks to those Grand Justices, the duck he had in his hands just flew
away.
His bride had disappeared right under his nose.
Nelson glanced at the empty space next to him, and his face was downright sour.
He looked absolutely terrible.
“Grand Justices, how could you do this? You already went out of your way to make things hard for me during the ceremony, and I swallowed it.
