“Ha! Nelson, you guys have no idea who Lex really is. Right now, you’re only with her because she’s a female, or maybe just because you like her.

“But have you ever thought that, with your status, you’re totally not good enough for her?” the Grand Justice said.

“Not good enough for her?” Nelson repeated, his eyes narrowing.

He gave the Grand Justice a searching look and asked tentatively, “Grand Justice, do you guys actually know who Lex really is?”

‘Of course we do,” the Grand Justice replied.

‘Really? So can you tell me where Lex comes from? And why she doesn’t fear the Clyssia Virus?” Nelson asked, his voice

tense.

‘It’s not the time yet. When the moment comes, you’ll know the truth about Lex,” the Grand Justice said.

‘And when will that be?” Nelson asked anxiously.

Noticing Nelson’s urgency, the Grand Justice replied gravely, “When Lex remembers her past, you’ll all learn who she truly

‘Alright, it’s getting late. Nelson, you should head back. Don’t linger here and disturb us.”

As the Grand Justice was about to leave, Nelson called out, unable to hold back his worry, “Grand Justice, when will I get to see Lex again?”

The Grand Justice replied, “Nelson, don’t you have that spatial transporter? If Lex gets some time, maybe she’ll drop by to see you.

‘If nothing else, once she gets her memories back, you know as a mom, she’ll be worried about her mer egg.

When that time comes, she’ll definitely head back to Merfolk Island to check on her kid. So why not just wait for her there?”

Hearing this, Nelson’s face lit up with joy.

Will Lex really come to me on her own?‘ he wondered, his heart racing with hope.

While Nelson was deep in thought, he had no clue that, at that very moment, Lexie was caught in a powerful illusion, completely unable to escape.

Inside the illusion, she saw a breathtakingly beautiful man cradling his newly dead wife, then sending a child, wrapped up in an Isolation Pod, through a spatial tunnel.

After watching his child vanish into the tunnel, the man clung to his wife, lost in endless sorrow.

When the grief finally faded, he scaled his wife’s body in a frozen tomb. As for himself, he shut himself away in a pitch–black cave and never came out again.

As for the child who was sent through the tunnel, she was found by a man.

When Lexie finally saw the face of the man who had picked up the child, her whole world stopped, she was utterly floored.

‘Dad?‘ Lexie gasped inwardly.

It’s him. My dad. The one I lost ages ago. Lexie’s heart skipped a beat.

Inside this massive illusion, Lexie was like an invisible observer, she just stood there quietly, watching as her dad cared for the little girl. To her disbelief, that girl eventually grew up to look exactly like her.

In the illusion, Lexie couldn’t take her eyes off her dad, completely captivated. But when she saw the little girl slowly becoming her, her heart suddenly started racing, she felt a strange, inexplicable panic.

If everything I saw in that illusion is real, does that mean I’m not actually my dad’s real kid?‘ Lexie thought, her mind whirling in confusion.

‘But if I’m not his daughter, then am I really the child of that couple I saw at the start?‘ Lexie’s heart raced with uncertainty.

‘Could that even be true?‘ Lexie couldn’t help but doubt, her mind reeling.

At the very start of the illusion, Lexie saw the man’s beast form clearly, it was a kirin–like creature, covered in shimmering scales.

What is that? It looks just like one of those mythical kirins from ancient legends, Lexie thought, her mind spinning.

“But this is the interstellar age! How could a kirin from back in my era exist here? There’s no way that’s possible, Lexie told herself, shaking her head in disbelief.

“But what if it really is true?‘ Lexie thought, anxiety twisting in her gut. ‘What am I supposed to do then?‘

When Lexie finally snapped out of it, the illusion had already reached the moment she jumped off the cliff. In the illusion, she saw it all so clearly, just as she was about to fall, someone reached out and pulled her into a tunnel.

And that person? It was the High Priest.

Even though he was wearing a mask, Lexie was absolutely certain, it was the High Priest who had pulled her into the tunnel.

Seeing this, the illusion shattered, unable to withstand the storm of emotions raging inside Lexie.

Just then, as Lexie opened her eyes, the first thing she saw was Gary, leaning over at her bedside, watching her with concern.

“Gary?” she called out.

“Lex, it’s me, Gary replied, his voice gentle.

After gently adjusting her blanket, Gary looked at Lexic, a puzzled look in his eyes. “Lex, you called out the High Priest’s name in your sleep. Did you have a dream about him?” Gary asked, his voice soft but clearly confused.

“Did I really call out the High Priest’s name just now?” Lexie mumbled, still a bit out of it

She just lay there, staring blankly at the ceiling, her voice barely above a whisper.

“Yeah, you did. But you sounded really scared and confused, Gary replied, concern etched on his face.

“Lex, what did you see in your dream?‘ Gary asked softly.

“I… I saw…” Lexie began, her voice faltering as she hesitated, the memory clearly weighing on her.

She forced herself to sit up, struggling against the exhaustion that seemed to press down on her entire body.

Seeing her like this, Gary rushed over to support her, worry etched all over his face.

After Gary helped her sit up, Lexie turned to him, looking puzzled.

“Gary, you’re from one of those reclusive clans too, right? So let me ask you, are there any clans out there whose beast form takes the shape of a kirin?” she asked.

“Kirin? What’s a kirin?” Gary asked, looking totally lost.

Seeing Gary’s confusion, Lexie thought for a second, then described the kirin’s appearance in simple terms.

When Lexie finished, Gary’s eyes widened and he drew in a sharp breath.

“Lex, that’s not some kirin. That’s a Light Beast, the oldest and most legendary clan in the whole Aetherion Interstellar Zone. They’re the living embodiment of power, status, purity, and holiness,” Gary said, awe in his voice.

“The Light Beast Clan vanished into seclusion ages ago.

“But even though, their followers are everywhere across the Aetherion Interstellar Zone. Just look at the Empire and the Federation, both have their own Judicial Halls.

“Anyone who becomes a Grand Justice in those halls has survived countless trials. They’re seasoned veterans, smart, and tough as nails.”

“And the High Priest of the Light Beast clan? That spot is handpicked by the clan leader. They have to be insanely strong, but also someone who truly cares about everyone and thinks big, like, really has the whole universe in mind.

“The Light Beast Clan is respected all across the Aetherion Interstellar Zone.”

“Lex, are you sure you actually saw a Light Beast in your dream? Seriously, why would you suddenly dream about the Light Beast Clan?” Gary asked, sounding totally baffled.

“Honestly, if you hadn’t mentioned them, I’d have totally forgotten they even existed.

“That clan never shows up, and their power is just insane, our reclusive clans aren’t even close to their level,” Gary said, shaking his head.

Hearing Gary say all that, Lexie was totally floored.
