Chapter 46
The handsome Serenus made Lexie’s heart skip a few beats. She felt as if she was drawn by an inexplic… take her eyes off him.
It really wasn’t her fault for being so eager to look at him. Serenus was truly too handsome.
As Lexie’s eyes sparkled with admiration, Arthur leaned close to her ear and said in a strange tone, “Lex, Serenus is at least seventy to eighty thousand years old. He’s old enough to be your ancestor. You two are not a match.”
Hearing Arthur’s words, the infatuation in Lexie’s eyes disappeared immediately. However, even though she thought Serenus was indeed a bit old, he was still incredibly handsome.
Just as Lexie’s eyes lit up again, Serenus strode over to her and looked her up and down with a curious gaze.
Looking up into Serenus‘ golden eyes, Lexie checked herself over, thinking there was nothing strange about her that deserved such intense scrutiny.
Thinking she might have mud on her face, Lexie instinctively wiped her face randomly, then turned to Arthur. “Dr. Cole, is there something dirty on my face?”
“No, there is nothing on your face,” Arthur replied.
Arthur pulled Lexie behind him, then stared at Serenus with a wary look.
“Her blood fell on my body and saved my life. Arthur, I’ve lived for so long. I can tell the difference between a female and a beastman at a glance. She’s not a beastman. I can tell.” Serenus said.
“Serenus, what are you up to?” Hearing Serenus‘ deliberately lowered voice, Arthur’s face turned terrifyingly cold, as if he would kill Serenus immediately if he dared to say anything he didn’t like.
“Easy. I won’t hurt her, and I can’t hurt her. Arthur, I know why you’re hiding her identity, and I understand what you’re trying to do.” Serenus said.
“Serenus, what exactly do you want?” Arthur asked unhappily.
Serenus replied, “I want to be her bodyguard and protect her.”
“Out of the question. You can’t.” Upon hearing Serenus‘ words, Arthur refused without hesitation.
“Why?” Serenus asked.
Arthur said, “Because you’re not worthy.”
Seeing Serenus‘ shocked expression, Arthur did not back down at all.
“Serenus, let me tell you. She’s just in her early twenties–she hasn’t really grown up yet. If you dare to hit on her, I’ll skin you alive,” he said.
After speaking, regardless of Serenus‘ expression, Arthur turned around, pulled Lexie, and walked outside. As he walked, he rambled on with various warnings. When Lexie tried to look back at Serenus, Arthur grabbed her tightly, not allowing her to turn around.
“Lex, Serenus is just an old man. He’s not good enough for you. Aim higher–don’t always associate with scoundrels.” Arthur
said.
Lexie replied, “But I think-”

Chapter 46
Before Lexie could finish her sentence, Arthur interrupted her directly. “No, save it.”
Watching Lexie being pulled away by Arthur, Serenus opened his palm. There, a drop of bright red blood lay.
It was the blood that had fallen on him when Lexie cut her finger earlier–the blood that had saved his life. And th single drop in his hand was one he had managed to keep by chance.
Just smelling the blood on his hand, he could confirm that the Mermaid named Hill was a female, not a beastman.
Although he didn’t know why Arthur was protecting this female so closely, he knew one thing: with this female around, his gene disease could be cured. In short, he was determined to stick with this female.
Carefully storing the blood in a small bottle, Serenus looked at Lorey, who was walking toward him from a distance.
He said coldly, “Lorey, you have crossed the line. You clearly know how dangerous a beastman is when he goes berserk, yet you actually pushed that child in front of me.”
He went on, “I came so close to killing that child. Lorey, I don’t think I ever taught you to be so ruthless, nor did I teach you to be such a jerk.”
Lorey immediately said, “Mr. White, I—”
“Also, what grudge do you have against that young person that you were willing to spend one billion starcoins to have me kill him with my own hands?” Serenus asked.
Hearing his plan exposed directly, Lorey pretended not to understand and said, “Mr. White, I don’t know what you’re talking about.”
Serenus said, “I don’t care what grudge you have against that young person. If you dare to make a move on him again, I will kill you.”
“Also, from now on, you are no longer my student. I cannot and dare not accept a student as vicious as you.” Serenus said.
After speaking, Serenus ignored Lorey’s pale face and turned toward the principal’s of principal, the principal’s gaze toward Lorey was no longer as gentle.
he said something to the
Lorey understood that once he was no longer Serenus‘ student, he would be abandoned by his family and the school.
He had anticipated that his plan would fail today.
Serenus‘ beast form was a mutated ancient giant anaconda–his beast form directly determined his overwhelming strength.
It was precisely because Serenus was so powerful that Lorey had originally gone to great lengths to become his student, thereby gaining his protection.
Only in this way could he transform from an overlooked child in his family to the direct heir of the clan.
Today, Serenus‘ body had suddenly been bestialized, and he had gone on a rampage, attacking people everywhere.
Lorey had thought that since Serenus‘ body had suddenly beastified into this state, he would definitely not be able to recover. If Serenus couldn’t recover, then he would be useless to Lorey. So Lorey had decided to get rid of him.
He wanted Serenus to completely turn into an emotionless beast, then have someone send him to a desolate planet to fend for himself.
The best way to trigger his beastly nature was to make the irrational Serenus kill someone. And Lexie was the perfect bait he had found.
