He reached out, placed his hand on Lexie’s waist, and lifted her effortlessly into his arms, rocking her gently as he soothed her. Lex

Hm, I’m here,Lexie said, her voice dreamy as she stared at Kaelen’s face.

Do you like me?Kaelen asked.

Gazing into Kaelen’s iridescent eyes, Lexie replied in a dazed, silly tone, Hm, I do.”

What is it that you like about me?Kaelen lowered his head, brushed a soft kiss against Lexie’s cheek, and asked in a tender voice.

I like that you’re so goodlooking. Your eyes are pretty, your face is pretty, your mouth is pretty. Everything about you is pretty.Under the influence of Kaelen’s charm, Lexie’s answer was completely mindless.

Really? He pressed a light kiss to Lexie’s lips, then pulled back to look at her, his voice warm and soft. Since you like me, will you let me be your mate?

Yes, yes! I like you!Lexie said.

That’s my good girl. Lex, remember thisI am Kaelen, King of the Sea. Now that you’ve agreed to be my mate, let’s form a mating bond right now and become true partners, shall we?

OkayLexie replied.

Kaelen smiled, You’re such a good girl, Lex.

Looking down at Lexie, who was gazing up at him with pure infatuation, Kaelen knew deep down that using his Mermaid charm on her was not exactly honorable.

But Mermaids lived by one rule when it came to love: strike first, or lose out forever. If he hesitated even for a second, the mate he had finally found would slip through his fingers in the blink of an eye.

Besides, a female like the one in his arms was rarer than any treasure in the ocean. If he dared to let her go now, she would be gone before he could even blink.

With that thought, Kaelen leaned down and kissed Lexie’s lips softly. The moment their lips met, a glowing bead slipped from his mouth and into Lexie’s throat.

As the bead settled in her belly, a soft, shimmering light enveloped Lexie completely.

Bathing in that hazy glow, she looked like a fairy straight out of a painting.

Within the misty radiance, a Mermaid totem appeared on Lexie’s neck.

In the space of a heartbeat, the totem seemed to come alive, sliding down her neck and disappearing beneath the collar of her clothes.

Witnessing this, Kaelen reached out and tugged gently at Lexie’s collar. There, right over her heart, the Mermaid totem glowed faintly.

Staring at the totem, Kaelen’s eyes were filled with satisfaction. He fixed Lexie’s collar back in place, then turned his gaze back to her face.

Lexie had already drifted off to sleep, her expression peaceful and her breathing steady.

The soft rise and fall of her chest made her look as delicate and lovely as a real Mermaid. Unable to resist, Kaelen lowered his head and pressed one last lingering kiss to her lips.

When he pulled away, he looked down at Lexie, still nestled safely in his arms. Then his eyes flicked upward, catching sight of a dark shadow hurtling toward him from a distance.

With a flick of his wrist, a massive, exquisitely beautiful shell materialized on the sand beside him.

Kaelen took a step toward the shell, his tail transforming into a pair of strong, muscular legs the moment it touched the beach.

He carried Lexie to the ornate shell and laid her gently inside. The second he stood up, the empty shell was instantly filled with all manner of rare gems and pearls.

By then, the dark shadow on the horizon had grown much closer. Kaelen cast one final glance at Lexie, then turned and vanished from the beach without a trace.

The moment he left, the seawater that had trapped William released him, flinging him roughly onto the sand. He collapsed onto the shore, coughing violently in pain.

Just then, several more dark figures descended from the sky. They were Arthur and Austin, with Ryker trailing behind Austin.

The three of them jumped down from their mechas and ran straight toward Lexie.-

At a single glance, they spotted Lexie sleeping peacefully inside the giant shell, surrounded by the glittering

treasures that filled it.

Austin rushed forward, his eyes scanning Lexie’s body anxiously. He checked her carefully from head to toe and, finding no sign of injury, let out a long, relieved breath.

But then his gaze fell on the faint hint of a fish tail totem peeking out from the neckline of her clothes, and his body froze. He thought, It’s the Mermaid mating totem?

A flicker of doubt crossed his mind. He reached out and gently pulled Lexie’s collar aside. Beneath it, her skin was smooth and unmarked, with no trace of any totem. He thought, Oh, thank goodness. I must have been

wrong.

After all, Lex was just a female bot. It was impossible for her to bear a beastman’s mating totem. Only real females would develop such a mark when they bonded with a beastman.

To Austin, Lexie was definitely not a real female. She was just a robot that looked like one. A female bot could never have a mating totem.

So he had definitely seen it wrong. Still, his eyes lingered on the luxurious shell bed beneath Lexie. Austin was no fool. That was exactly the kind of thing Kaclen, that brooding fish, would use to court someone.

He thought, Wait a minute. Why would Kaelen’s mating gift end up with Lexie? Could it be that Kaelen had lost his mind, mistaking Lex for a real female? That in his desperation, he had given his precious mating offering to a robot by mistake?

The more Austin thought about this possibility, the darker his expression became.

He could definitely not let this happen. Lexie was his female bot, and he was her master.

If anyone was going to court her, Austin thought it should be him. That brooding fish Kaelen had no right to butt in.

With that thought, Austin turned to glare at Arthur, who stood nearby, and William, who was still sitting on the sand, coughing. He opened his mouth, his voice laced with irritation as he demanded Lexie.
