But Lexie couldn’t care less. She planted a kiss on the fox’s nose, ignoring its shocked expression, then pulled

it close to her chest, absently running her fingers through its fur as her mind raced with excitement.

Right now, Austin was already into her, and he didn’t even know who she really was.

She wondered if he ever found out she was a real female, would he like her even more?

Just thinking about how they first met made her cheeks flush red.

Oh my! That was so embarrassing. How did I even end up confessing to Marshal Drake just now?she thought, her heart pounding.

She’d only confessed because the other side of the Optic Brain was pitch black, and she couldn’t see his reaction at all.

It was like she was fooling herself and just blurted it out.

But none of that mattered. What really counted was that her very first confession had actually worked. Lexie let out a silly giggle.

Just thinking about how her confession had actually worked made her so thrilled. She lifted the fox up with both hands, gazing at its fluffy face, her heart overflowing with joy.

She muttered, Purple ninetailed fox, tails swaying as you dance along, everyone says you’re pure magic.

One tail sweeps up the stars, two tails brush the moon, three and four tails bring out a blazing sun.

Five tails gather the clouds, six tails paint a rainbow, seven and eight tails conjure a lovely maiden.

The ninth tail is the most amazing. Turns into my dream prince, sneaking in at midnight to deliver my true love.

Little fox, with all those tails, do you think you could pull off a storybook transformation and turn into a beautiful maiden to thank me?

I did save your life, you know.

Wait a sec, you’re a boy. How about turning into a total hottie and being my personal bodyguard?

People say ninetailed foxes always turn into dropdead gorgeous humans when they transform. So, how about you show me your beastman magic? Can you do that?

The fox still remained silent.

She continued, You’re Hehe, not talking? Guess that means you can’t, huh? Seriously, everyone else has leveled up into beastmen. Why are you still stuck like this?

Guess you’ll have to settle for being my pet now. You’re still a ninetailed fox. Those nine little tails really

She gave the fox’s fluffy head a gentle rub, and after all that excitement, before she knew it, Lexie was fast asleep.

Once the room grew quiet, the fox that had been resting peacefully on Lexie’s chest wriggled itself free and stood up.

After stretching out its body, it leaned in close to Lexie and gave her a gentle sniff.

Seeing Lexie sound asleep, the fox softly licked her lips with its tongue, then with a nimble leap, slipped out the window.

The night was misty, and under the moonlight, the purple ninetailed fox looked ethereal, like something straight out of a dream.

It moved swiftly and lightly, so much so that even as it passed through the busy school grounds, nobody noticed it at all.

The purple ninetailed fox dodged one security camera after another, zipping through the darkness like a shadow.

Before long, it slipped out of the school grounds and tucked itself away in a hidden corner, quietly spying on the two people below.

Hidden in the shadows, Eric was speaking in a hushed tone, Harvey, did you bring the gene detector?

Yeah, I got it. But what do you even need a gene detector for?Harvey asked.

You’re better off not knowing. Just hand it over and scram,Eric said sharply.

Alright, boss,Harvey replied.

Seeing Eric’s sour expression, Harvey handed over the gene detector and quickly made his exit.

Once Harvey was gone, Eric glanced around warily, then made his way down a narrow path outside the school and slipped into an abandoned room.

After doublechecking that no one was around, Eric pulled out the gene detector from his spatial ring. He carefully took out the two strands of hair he’d pulled from Lexie’s head and placed them inside the device.

As the gene detector powered up, Eric held his breath, nerves stretched tight as he waited for the results.

He was so tense that time felt frozen. His heartbeat echoed in the empty room, every beat pushing the results to hurry up.

Eric stared at the detector’s screen, not wanting to miss a single thing.

Finally, the screen flickered, and a long string of complex genetic sequences appeared.

He scanned the data in a rush, his brows knitting and then relaxing, like he was trying to talk the data into

He muttered, Damn, I knew it. She is really a female. My hunch was spot on. She’s actually a female.

Beast God, you really dropped hope right into our laps. There’s actually a female living among us.

She’s not even afraid of the Clyssia Virus, and all this time she’s been hiding as a beastman right here in my class.

Eric whispered under his breath, his eyes clouded with mixed emotions.

The result was exactly what he’d expected, but somehow it still caught him off guard. He took a deep breath, trying to steady the storm inside him.

He knew this gene test result changed the plan for him. He had to plan every step carefully, making sure nothing could go wrong.

So he carefully put the detector away, tucking the two strands of hair back into his spatial ring.

After making sure everything was in order, Eric turned and left the abandoned room.

The night was still shrouded in mist, and as Eric headed back, his mood was nothing like when he’d first arrived.

He was so hyped about the news that he almost wanted to shout it from the rooftops. But the thought of someone else snatching away the rarest treasure alive made him clamp down hard on his excitement.

He couldn’t breathe a word of this to anyone. He had to play it cool, stick by Hill’s side, win her over bit by bit, and finally make her his.

He was dead set on becoming Hill’s mate and never letting her go.

Just the fact that she was able to cure Samuel’s gene disease today and save his life made Eric determined to be with Hill, no matter what.

But above all, as a beastman, he dreamed of having children of his own one day.

He wanted his kids to be born from real love between their parents, not just for the sake of keeping the bloodline going, and definitely not in some cold, lifeless Genesis Pod like so many others.

So, whatever it took, he was going to do everything he could to win Hill over and stay by her side.

Just as Eric was lost in thought, plotting his next move, he stopped dead in his tracks. Looking up, he suddenly locked eyes with a pair of vivid purple eyes staring right back at him.
