Besides, she was the only female in this world. If she didn’t enjoy all the perks, she’d be wasting her special

status.

While Lexie’s mind was tangled with random thoughts, the spaceship, which had been gliding smoothly. suddenly became turbulent and started to jolt.

Before Lexie could even react, a massive explosion tore a huge hole in the back of the ship.

With that gaping hole, unstable airflow rushed in and out, making the ship swerve uncontrollably through the endless void of space.

Samuel, who was nearest, instinctively wrapped his arms around Lexie, and she found herself squeezed into the gap between the table and chair, explosions roaring all around them.

What the hell just happened? Did we smash into a meteor, or is someone actually attacking us?Lexie thought, panic rising in her chest.

Right as she was freaking out, William Hawk and Serenus White came crashing out of the cockpit, looking rattled.

Spotting Lexie huddled in Samuel’s arms, they instantly closed ranks around her and rushed her toward the escape pods at the center of the ship.

When they finally reached the escape pod bay, they found there was only one pod left.

With just a single escape pod, it was clearonly one person could escape.

But there were five people stuck on the ship.

While Lexie stood there, frozen and unsure what to do, Serenus grabbed her and shoved her into the escape pod. Without a second thought, he hit the launch button, and the pod shot out into space.

But just as the hatch sealed shut, a flash of purple darted in, something clamped in its jaws, and leaped straight into Lexie’s escape pod.

As Lexie’s escape pod shot away, Serenus’s face instantly turned icy.

He turned to Samuel and Eric, his gaze sharp with accusation.

The ship’s disaster was no accidentit was sabotage.

And with only one escape pod left, it was obvious that pod was meant for Lexie.

Whoever set this up knew that if anything went wrong, they’d all make sure Lexie got the only chance to

survive.

Every part of their journey had been kept secretexcept for the spaceship, which had been set up by Samuel

and Eric.

Serenus, don’t look at us like that,Samuel said, keeping his voice calm. Given who Lexie is, no matter what anyone offers us, we’d never hurt her.

That’s right,Eric chimed in. We’d rather die than hurt her.

Good, it’s better that it wasn’t you,Serenus replied coldly. The ship that attacked us is still lurking nearby. We need to wrap this up quickly and get to Lexie.

She’s all alone in that escape pod. If someone tries to snatch her and something happens, none of us are getting out of this alive.

With that, Serenus tore off his shirt, showing off his powerful, muscular torso.

In the next second, he beastified, smashed his way out of the ship, and rushed straight at the enemy vessel.

Seeing Serenus go wild like that, William, Samuel, and Eric knew there was no way they could pull off a stunt like that.

Serenus was an ancient giant snake, and once he beastified, he could roam the endless void of space like it was nothing.

But they weren’t built like him. If they tried to go out there without any protection, it’d be a oneway ticket to death.

Watching the spaceship about to fall apart, William, Samuel, and Eric quickly suited up in their mechas and charged straight at the enemy ship.

Meanwhile, William and Serenus were in the thick of battle. On the other side, Lexie stared at the little purple fox that had darted into the escape pod at the last second, Tumblebeast clamped in its jaws.

Wait, what? That Windroller beast used to be so bighow did it end up this tiny? Did it get shrunk or what?Lexie thought, totally baffled.

It shrank so much. Is it ever going to get back to its old size?Lex worried, her mind racing.

But with everything happening, she couldn’t afford to think about it. The escape pod suddenly started releasing some kind of gas, and she felt overwhelmingly sleepy.

Her eyelids grew impossibly heavy. As she slipped into unconsciousness, all she could do was clutch Tumblebeast tightly in her arms.

As Lexie’s escape pod shot far into space, a warship lay in wait, ready to reel it in and take Lexie captive.

But just as the warship’s capture tentacles reached out for Lexie’s pod, a streak of purple landed on top of it.

With a single swipe of his claw, he sliced through the tentacles gripping the pod, then, using some mysterious force, sent Lexie’s escape pod hurtling away like a meteor, vanishing into the void at breakneck speed.

Watching this unfold, Nelson, the Crown Prince of the Aetherion Federation, was on the warshiphis face went dark in an instant.
