“Um, I was going to pack my things and find a new apartment,” Noelle said. She took a table napkin and wiped the tears from her face. “I can’t stay in our marital home anymore.”

“As for Benson, I know Brian will take care of him,” Noelle said. “In any case, Brian and my son rarely come home now.”

“So, you are going to give up on your son?” Serena asked.

“I don’t know, but it’s really hard to force my son. The more he defies me, the more it hurts,” Noelle said, sniffing. “Right now, I guess I just want to get away. If I’m around Benson, he often praises Gwen, and I lose my temper.”

Serena shrugged. “He made plans for the weekend.”

“If you are worried about the f*e, we can negotiate it,” Serena offered. “In exchange for using our lawyers, you can work for our company forever.”

Serena smiled.

“So let me get this straight. I use your lawyers, and I get lifetime employment? That doesn’t seem like an actual payment,” Noelle chuckled.

“We could actually benefit from this,” Serena said. “AI is the new technology, and if we don’t keep up, we are going to be buried. We need someone of your talent, Noelle.”

Noelle hesitated and said, “But we don’t know yet if it will work. You haven't seen the contract for NOBRI Protocol.”

Serena reached for Noelle’s hand. “We will figure it out. Worst comes to worst, why not make a new software? With our legal team, you are sure to win the case, or at least have the best chance of winning it. Will you accept my help?”

Noelle looked around repeatedly. Then she expressed her concern, “I’m worried about committing to a company. I did that with HelixPoint, and my work got tied into an exclusive license.”

Serena leaned closer. “Then if you want, you can just accept my help and pay me back later. We don’t have any written agreement anyway.”

“Or we can talk about this further on Monday,” Serena gave her the option to think it over. “But right now, you said you want to pack?”

Serena raised her hands, smiling. “I’ve got a lot of available muscles.”

Noelle looked very puzzled, but later she understood what Serena meant.

Serena followed Noelle into her marital home along with five bodyguards in total.

Noelle was shocked by the level of security personnel that Serena could call at will. While the soldiers were helping her pack, she muttered, “I thought it was going to take me the whole weekend to pack, but I guess not.”

It took only an hour and a half.

Noelle didn’t want to take much anyway. She only took her books, her clothes, her bags, her shoes, and her computers.
