Chapter 84: Dino’s Rules

Dino’s Rules.

Bianca: (Please take a picture of my grandson for me. Ask him about all his favorite things. I will go shopping tomorrow. Also

ask about Ali.]

Nathaniel: (You should have just come, Mother.]

Bianca: [I am not yet ready to face Serena and her family. I feel ashamed. Tell her first. Ask Serena if I could meet them. Tell her family too. And tell them I’m very sorry about the past.]

Nathaniel sighed as he read his mother’s texts. He replied: [I will. think Serena will let you meet them. She will do what is right.

He was at the hospital, already on the same floor where the suites were located. He had just gotten off the lift when he spotted a young boy hugging his dino, looking like a boy with a secret mission.

The boy was wearing his hospital gown and socks, crouching past the nurse station as he slipped by.

It was Sebastian.

Nathaniel’s brows met. ‘What is he doing?’

Then, seeing that the nurses weren’t looking his way, Sebastian ran off.

Nathaniel blocked him.

Sebastian frowned and looked up at Nathaniel. When their eyes met, Sebastian’s mouth rounded. “Whoa. You have the same cool eyes as me!”

Nathaniel nearly gave himself away, but he controlled his emotions and smiled at the little boy. “Do we? I think yours looks

cooler.”

Sebastian opened his mouth to say something, then folded his arms while still holding Dino. “Yeah. Mine is cooler.”

“Where are you going? Trying to escape?” Nathaniel asked.

Sebastian leaned in and reported, “My uncle banned Dino. I have to save him.”

“Why did he ban Dino?” Nathaniel asked calmly, lowering himsel to Sebastian’s level.

“Because Dino broke the glass at the hotel.” Sebastian made a face. “The hotel glass was poor quality.”

“Is that so?” Nathaniel asked with a smile. He thought his son was very cute. “But aren’t dinosaurs strong?”

Sebastian’s dinosaur toy was a sturdy one, nearly half the size of his torso, made of hard plastic and heavy for a child his age.

“But Dino didn’t mean it,” Sebastian reasoned.

Nathaniel nodded once. “Accidents happen.”

“And I’m bored,” Sebastian added. “Rooms are boring. I was goin to find a garden or something.”

Nathaniel glanced down the hallway as a nurse approached. He gave her a meaningful look, signaling that he would take care of it. The nurse seemed to understand.

“Yeah,” he said, returning his attention to Sebastian. “Hospitalse very boring.”

Sebastian brightened. “You know?”

“I do,” Nathaniel said, standing up. “That’s why Dino shouldn’t be banned.”

Sebastian gasped. “He shouldn’t?”

“No,” Nathaniel said quietly. “He just needs rules.”

Sebastian leaned closer. “Rules?”

Nathaniel was holding a gift for Sebastian. With his other hand, he counted with his fingers. “First, Dino can’t run around public places. Dino can’t fly. Dino doesn’t jump into glass walls or windows. Dino has scheduled playtime. Dino shouldn’t hurt you or any other child. If you make a deal with Dino and promise your uncle this, he won’t be banned anymore.”

“Hmmm.” Sebastian pouted, resting his finger against his lip as he thought deeply. Clearly, he realized the rules applied to him too. Nathaniel laughed inwardly at his son’s internal struggle.

By then, Nathaniel had already spotted Serena and Silas. They looked like frantic guardians, clearly having searched the entire

floor for Sebastian.

Sebastian turned to Dino and said, “I don’t know if he will listen. He is a fake Dino.”

Nathaniel smiled and pointed at him. “You’re the toy owner, so you’re the boss. Dino should listen and follow your rules. And if you follow Mommy’s and Uncle’s rules, Dino will copy you.”
