The Moment I Realized I Can't Lose You novel Chapter 126

Outside the precinct, Audrey and Nora were still drowning in a sea of reporters. The paparazzi buzzed around them like bloodthirsty mosquitoes, refusing to give them an inch of space.

"Audrey, what do we do?" Nora whispered, her hands gripping Audrey's jacket like a lifeline. Despite her earlier bravado, the terrifying aggression of the media mob had completely rattled her.

"It's fine. Let them ask," Audrey smiled calmly. "My backup is almost here."

Right on cue, the blare of heavy car horns shattered the chaos.

"Get out of the way! They're coming right at us!" someone in the crowd shrieked.

The mob whipped around. About a mile down the street, a massive convoy of sleek, black SUVs was barreling toward them in perfect, militaristic formation. They were moving dangerously fast, showing absolutely no intention of hitting the brakes.

Panic erupted. Gossip was great, but their lives were better. The crowd scattered like bowling pins.

Nora yanked Audrey's arm. "We need to move too! Those cars—"

"Are here for me." Audrey stood completely still, watching the imposing fleet approach.

As the convoy neared, Nora realized the driver in the lead SUV was Bianca.

Screech!

The fleet slammed on their brakes in perfect unison, stopping mere inches from Audrey and Nora, perfectly aligned for them to open the doors.

"Gentlemen," Audrey said, sweeping a cold gaze over the terrified reporters. "Go back and tell whoever paid you to harass me that I've already filed a police report regarding the break-in and the theft of my marriage license. The police are currently pulling the security footage from the manor. Tell her to start practicing her explanation for the authorities."
