The Moment I Stepped Into His World as the Fake Girlfriend, I Became the Real Prize novel Chapter 58

Lydia looked him dead in the eye, her expression full of unwavering resolve.

"Ms. Larkin and Sasha have no grudges between them. The only reason their paths even crossed is because of me."

"I don't want to make malicious assumptions, but her attacking Sasha probably had to do with me."

Lydia straightened her spine, her stance firm. "Sterling, we've known each other for a long time, and you know what kind of person I am. I don't let my friends suffer injustice for nothing."

"If it really was Ms. Larkin who threw the first punch, I hope you can distinguish right from wrong and not cover for her!"

Sterling gripped the branch tighter. He remembered that Elena was a hostess at The Midnight Lounge; she definitely wasn't innocent.

Furthermore, he had only known Elena for a very short time and truly didn't understand her at all.

But there was one thing he was absolutely sure of... Elena loved money!

Even for the sake of cash, she wouldn't just attack someone for no reason. There was zero benefit in it for her.

"You can't just listen to a one-sided story. Elena is my girlfriend, so I need to hear her side of things first."

When he spoke again, Sterling's dark lashes lowered, his stance entirely ambiguous.

Lorelei nodded meekly, chiming in with a small voice. "Yeah, yeah, Sterling makes a fair point. Maybe... maybe Ms. Larkin is hurt even worse?"

In her heart, though, she was praying desperately.

Ms. Larkin, I swear I'm not wishing you ill, but please, I'm begging you, you have to be injured too!

Under the current circumstances, the only way for the heir to take pity on her and avoid a disaster was if she was also bruised and battered.

Lydia said nothing more. She turned her head and exchanged a look with Sasha, who gave a slight shake of her head.

With Lydia present, Sasha felt quite confident. She had only thrown a bucket of water and slapped Elena once.

Compared to her own injuries, Elena was practically unscathed.
