Ms. Rebecca has just told Connor he’s having a boy. The grin on his face is so wide you’d swear someone handed him a crystal-clear ultrasound photo and a frame to hang it in.
And yes-Ms. Rebecca doesn’t miss.
Still, if Evelyn finds out Connor learned the baby’s sex before she did, he’s going to be a
corpse with a pulse.
“I can tell by the way she’s carrying already,” Ms. Rebecca says, voice full of certainty. “He’s going to be handsome-takes after his father. And that child will carry a level of power this pack hasn’t witnessed.”
She sets down a tray stacked with a little bit of everything. She never lets us go hungry.
Connor takes his plate and coffee and drops into a chair. “I’m counting on you being
right. And seriously-thank you. Again.”
“I’m just grateful I get to watch this family grow.” Her eyes shine. She dabs at them with
a napkin, trying to pretend she isn’t tearing up.
“Ms. Rebecca,” I tell her, pulling her into a quick side hug, “you are family. You’re ours.”
She lets out a soft laugh through the emotion. “You boys are something else. I’m
blessed. Now, let me get moving-lunch won’t cook itself. And I think a certain Alpha
has caramel cake coming.”
I narrow my eyes at her like she’s committing a crime. “Don’t tease me like that. If
Bridget weren’t already pregnant, your caramel cake would have her pregnant again
before the sun came up.”
Ms. Rebecca breaks into laughter as she heads out.
And she isn’t wrong about one thing-Bridget’s scent is everywhere. It wrecks my focus.
I can already feel my body gearing up, because the second the hall fills with her, I’m
going to devour my mate tonight like I’ve been starving.
“Knock, knock.”
Mom’s voice comes from the doorway.

They’ve been in the middle of relocating to the parents’ residence. I told them there was no need to leave the pack house, but Mom has been determined. There are cottages close by; they picked one near the garden.
“Hey, Mom.” I lean down and kiss the top of her head. She answers by pressing a kiss to
my cheek.
“Hello, gentlemen,” she says, stepping farther into my office.
My team answers in chorus, mouths full and hands still shuffling paperwork across my
conference table. “Luna.”
Then, overlapping: “Thanks for the food, Luna.”
She waves it off with a smile. “Not me. That was your new Luna. I think she could sense
her mate running on fumes.” The look she gives me is pure knowing.
All I can do is laugh. Are we really that transparent? Probably. She’s carrying twins, after
all.
“What brings you by?” I ask, eyebrow lifting. “Need help getting settled in your ‘proper q
uarters’-back inside the pack house?”
Bridget is not happy about them moving. I’m sure she’ll guilt them before they even
touch the first box.
Mom’s eyes sparkle as she teases, “No, son. You all need room. With the pace you’re
keeping, we may have to add another wing to this place.”
The men chuckle.
“Wow, Luna Kendra.”
Bridget’s voice cuts in, mock-offended and gorgeous.
She walks into my office with one hand braced on her belly-rounder by the day. Fitted
tank top, workout pants, hair pulled back like she’s trying to pretend she isn’t the most
distracting thing on earth.
I’m already moving to her.
“Hurt,” she declares, letting the word hang. “Hurt and appalled.”
“I heard there was a party in here.”

Dad comes in right behind her, crosses to Mom for a kiss, then turns and wraps Bridget
in a big hug.
He’s the only man alive who can hold my mate like that without Talon pushing a growl
up my throat.
“Well,” I say, taking in my office as it fills with family, “I guess it is.”
“Mom, Dad-there you are. I’m not moving.”
Aiden strides in like he owns the hallway, and Adrian trails after him.
“Agreed,” Adrian adds quickly, looking at Dad like this is a plea bargain. “We’re not
moving out either.”
Bridget plants her feet. “No one is moving out.”
Every voice in the room quiets, because when my Luna speaks like that, people listen.
“Adrian and Aiden can take the east wing Evelyn claimed,” Bridget continues, pointing like she’s arranging pieces on a board. “She’s on the Beta floor now with her mate.”
She gestures to Connor. He nods mid-bite to confirm.
“And the Alpha and Luna stay in the castle,” she says, “but my parents-in-law can move into the west VIP suites-the royal ones. We don’t have royals, so they’re empty. That gives them privacy, keeps them close, and they’re still right here when I need them.”
She exhales and presses her hand to her stomach. “Because I may be an Omni-wolf, but I have exactly zero experience with babies. And definitely not two at once.”
Mom’s expression softens. “Bridget, we only want you to feel like you’re truly leading as
Luna.”
Bridget’s gaze slides to me. “Then as Luna, those are my wishes. I’d like them
respected.”
I step in beside her. “I think those are fair compromises. It supports my mate, our twins,
and the family as a whole.”
Dad looks to Mom. Mom is practically glowing; she gives him a small, decisive nod.
He lifts his hands in surrender. “Then the Luna has spoken. I’ll have the movers start
immediately.”

Noise returns to the room.
“I call dibs on Evelyn’s room!” Aiden shouts.
Adrian nearly chokes on indignation. “No! I’m older-I get first pick! Mom!”
He follows her out as everyone filters away.

Everyone except my men, who never stopped working through the entire family debate.
They keep eating, keep sorting papers, as if my office has turned into a dinner theater.
Bridget lets out a long breath and gives me a small smile.
“You tracked me down just to announce that?” I ask her quietly. “Well done, Luna. You
made it look easy.”
“Thanks, babe.” She rubs her belly, and her face tightens. “But I actually came for you.
Your babies are going wild. They’ve been moving like crazy.”
The fatigue in her eyes punches straight through me.
I drag my office chair closer and guide her into it, turning her slightly away from the guys
so she gets a sliver of privacy.
“You look worn out,” I murmur, palm hovering over her stomach, trying to soothe the
pups. “Maybe you should go rest.”
She hesitates, then lifts her shirt. “And look-am I crazy, or have I not gotten bigger since
this morning?”
A laugh slips out of me, but it’s not entirely amusement. She has gotten bigger.
I talk to that belly almost every hour. I notice everything.
“Yeah,” I admit. “A little.” My gaze snaps to Connor. “Let’s get Dr. Kira now. I know you
have an appointment in a few days, but I’d rather not wait.”
Connor is already alert. “Everything okay, Alpha?”
“Check if Dr. Kira can come to our room,” I tell him. “I’m taking Bridget up to rest.”
He nods and mind-links while I lift Bridget into my arms and carry her upstairs.

“All right, you two,” Dr. Kira says when she arrives, smiling like this is routine. “Let’s see
what’s happening inside this perfect belly.”
She’s able to come quickly because we have an in-house hospital room-equipment
ready, especially with both Bridget and Connor’s mate expecting.
The ultrasound machine hums to life in our bedroom. Dr. Kira gels Bridget’s stomach and
sets the wand in place.
I’m at Bridget’s side, fingers laced with hers.
“Okay,” Dr. Kira narrates, eyes on the screen. “Baby A looks great. Growing nicely.”
She shifts angles. “Now baby B… and-wow.”
My spine stiffens.
“This one is a bit larger than the first,” she says slowly. “I’ve never seen a growth pattern
quite like this. They’re extraordinary.”
Bridget holds her breath.
“But,” Dr. Kira adds immediately, “they’re healthy. Both of them. I can confirm that.”
Relief barely lands before she continues.
“I’ll run additional bloodwork for Mom, but the babies are on an accelerated growth.
track,” she explains. “And you were right-you are bigger. You’re measuring a little over
two months in pup growth.”
Bridget’s eyes widen. “Wait. So… am I halfway through?”
Her voice wobbles. “Are you sure they’re big enough? That means I only have two
months left-right?”
I stroke her arm, feeling her anxiety climb.
“Luna,” Dr. Kira says gently, “breathe. Yes, about two months left-though for you.
feel like one.”
My mind goes quiet with shock.
A normal pup pregnancy is four months.
My Omni-wolf mate is doing it in two.

I force myself to speak steadily, mostly for Bridget. “They’re healthy, and Bridget is doing well, right?”
Dr. Kira’s smile turns bright. “They’re perfect.” She gives Bridget a reassuring look. “And…
if you want, I can tell you what you’re having. It’s easy to see. Do you want to know?”
Bridget and I look at each other.
I didn’t think we’d be here this soon.
“Bridget,” I ask softly, still holding her hand, “do you want to know?”
She swallows. “Would you be upset if I said yes? Because I really need to know.”
I lift her hand and kiss her knuckles. There isn’t a universe where I’m disappointed by her
choice.
“Then let’s find out,” I say, nodding to Dr. Kira.
Dr. Kira adjusts the wand again, checks the angle, then nods like it’s the simplest thing in
the world.
“Baby A is a girl,” she announces. “And the bigger one-baby B-is a boy.
Congratulations, Alpha and Luna.”
She starts packing up while I stare at Bridget like I’m seeing the future drop into our
laps.
“A girl and a boy,” I whisper.
Then I grin and lower both hands over Bridget’s stomach. “Way to go, team.”
A soft tingling ripples under my palms-nothing like the mate bond. This is lighter,
different.
The babies.
They sense me.
Talon senses them too.
“I want to see you again in three days,” Dr. Kira says, already professional again. “We’ll
review the bloodwork and monitor their growth. You contact me anytime-day or night.
Understand?”

“Oh,” Dr. Kira adds, handing over printouts, “and here are some pictures.”
Then she’s gone, leaving the room suddenly too quiet.
Bridget doesn’t speak for a long beat.
I tilt my head, searching her face. “How are you feeling? Talk to me.”
Her hazel eyes glass over. Her lip trembles.
And then the tears come fast.
“Hey.” I move closer. “Look at me. I’m right here.”
She shakes her head, breath catching into hiccuping sobs. “I’m having two babies in
about a month, Ryder.”
My chest tightens.
“I have nothing ready for their room,” she rushes. “I barely understand my powers. I’m
supposed to help run a pack with you. I’m not ready. I can’t do this.”
She covers her face for a second, then drops her hands, eyes frantic. “I don’t even know
the first thing about babies. I-I need more time. I need to read. I need-”
I take her face gently, making her see me.
“Babe, yes you can,” I tell her, voice steady like a vow. “And you will.”
I keep going before her fear can swallow her again.
“You saved a whole pack,” I remind her. “You faced two villains and you won. You have a
heart big enough to carry everyone around you.”
I brush my thumb along her cheek, catching a tear.
“You’ve guided people into who they were meant to be-Beatrix, her gifts, the things no
one noticed. Not even me.”
Her breathing slows a fraction.
“You saved Connor,” I continue, “and you saved Iron Fang when they needed it. And an hour ago you stood in my office and led this entire family like it was second nature-and

I press my forehead to hers.
“Two healthy babies are coming because the Moon Goddess knows you’re ready.” I say.
“And you won’t do this alone. I’m here. Our family is here-every single person you just
directed into this home is here to help us.”
Her sobs soften into sniffles. She nods, eyes still wet.
“We got this?” she asks, voice small.
“We got this,” I answer.
She nods again, more certain. “We got this.”
Then her mouth curves into a shaky smile as reality lands.
“A boy and a girl.”
I mirror her smile. “A boy and a girl.”
