Chapter 63 A talk is needed…
Ryder’s POV

Having to stand in the hallway outside my own office while my mate sat in there with
her other mate was its own kind of hell. I trust Bridget. I know what she would say.
Still-if a mate bond works anything like the wolf bonds I’ve heard about, then the pull
might not care what I want. He might actually have a shot.
And that would mean I might have to share her.
‘Like hell,’ Talon snaps through the mind-link. ‘I’ll put him in the ground where he’s
standing.’
A rough laugh slips out of me, because he isn’t the only one thinking it.
‘No,’ I send back, forcing myself to breathe. ‘We love her more than we hate the idea. If
that’s what she wants, we’ll find a way to live with it. And the Seven Isles are in the
middle of the Dead Sea-‘
My irritation spikes.
‘Not that it matters. She can teleport.’
I clamp down before I spiral.
‘Stop. We wait. We hear her out.’
What I don’t do is stop planning. Lord Jude needs to be dug into-hard. If he’s tied to
anything rotten, I want it dragged into the light.
‘Lucas,’ I mind-link my Gamma, ‘run a full background on Lord Jude of the Seven Isles. I
want everything. Every clean record and every stain.’
‘Already on it, Alpha,’ Lucas replies instantly. ‘When I heard you’d brought him in, I
started. I’ll send updates as they hit.’
‘Good.’
I cut the link just as I hear my mate call for me. I’m already moving before she finishes
my name.

Inside, Mistress Nikolai gives me a small, formal nod. Bridget’s smile is softer-relieved,
but still steady. She reaches for my hand the second I step in.
She doesn’t waste time.
“We’ve decided there won’t be any relationship between us,” she says, voice level. “But I
did ask about a pact between our pack and their coven. Trade. Help if it’s ever needed. I
told him you’d be the one to negotiate and sign for us. Are you okay with that, Ryder?”
“I am,” I answer, and I mean it. “Let’s talk.”
I offer my hand to Lord Jude. He takes it.
Then Mistress Nikolai’s tone turns firm, ceremonial.
“Before any agreement, there’s the mate bond,” she says. “Even if you don’t want it, even
if you can’t feel it, it exists. I can see it, Luna. It must be severed.”
Bridget steps closer to my side, facing him head-on. Mistress Nikolai stands as witness.
Bridget lifts her chin.
“I, Luna Bridget of the Blackwood Rowen Pack and Omni-Wolf, reject you, Lord Jude of
the Seven Isles of the Blackwood Sea Coven, as my mate.”
Jude doesn’t flinch.
“I, Lord Jude of the Seven Isles of the Blackwood Sea Coven, accept your rejection,” he
says, “and I reject you, Luna Bridget of the Blackwood Rowen Pack and Omni-Wolf, as
my mate. I do, however, pledge my allegiance to you until my final breath.”
The bond breaks with barely a ripple-no agony, no collapse. Power meets power, and it
lands like ink on parchment. For them, it feels almost… contractual.
Bridget escorts Mistress Nikolai out, thanking her with genuine warmth. I watch her go
with my chest tight in pride.
Lord Jude’s gaze follows her.
“You are a fortunate man, Alpha Ryder.”
“I won’t argue that,” I tell him, then square my shoulders. “Now let’s handle the real
work.”

A few hours later, the pact is mostly settled-terms sketched in, final pieces waiting on
Lucas’s report. I’ve also reached out to my father; if anyone has years of context on Jude
and the Seven Isles, it’s him.
We place Lord Jude in a room on the second-floor guest wing, and then I take my mate u
pstairs.
As we walk, I catch Bridget’s expression-calm, but tired in the way someone looks after
carrying something heavy for too long.
“You’re incredible,” I tell her. “You’ve stepped into being Luna like you were born for it.
No one would have guessed you were human a month ago.”
She laughs and jabs her elbow into my side.
“Negotiating with groups and surviving leadership games is basically foster care training,” she says, then exhales. “I’m just glad it’s done. And I’m really glad Lord Jude
isn’t some psycho murderer trying to claim me.”
I huff a breath because I had the same thought-just dressed in different words.
Our room is exactly how I left it. I had the flowers cleared out earlier and moved to the dining hall for everyone to enjoy. This entire floor stays off-limits unless Bridget or I give
verbal permission.
The moment we cross the threshold, she spins and launches herself at me.
I catch her on instinct. Her legs lock around my waist, her arms sliding around my neck.
I’ve missed this weight, this heat-yes, even if she was in my arms yesterday. Too much
has happened since then.
Too many ways the world could’ve shifted.
She didn’t ask me to share her.
She’s still mine.
Her mouth finds my throat, her kisses quick and hungry. My body reacts immediately.
“It’s only around five in the morning,” she murmurs between kisses, already working
down my chest as her fingers tug at my shirt. “Are you still going to training?”
Her claw flashes. The fabric tears, and she pushes me backward until my knees hit the

“I’m considering my options,” I say, voice rough. “Depends if I get a better offer.”
She drags her tongue down my stomach to my navel and looks up at me like she’s about
to start a war.
“I’m hoping I can make an offer you can’t refuse.”
She peels off her sweater, then her bra. Pants, then underwear-dropped in a careless
trail. I pull in a deep breath, and her arousal hits me like a punch. Caramel cake-sweet,
warm, maddening.
“I can spare some time,” I manage.
She climbs onto me, all intention and confidence, ready to take control.
Not after the last few hours.
I grip her waist and roll us, pinning her beneath me.
“Ryder!” she yelps.
I push my pants down, needing her now-fast, hard, and real.
“You’d better be ready,” I warn, sliding the head of my cock through her slick folds. “I
need to feel what’s mine.”
Her hips chase me, desperate for more. She’s already soaked, and I know the second I
push, I’ll be buried.
“I’m yours, Alpha,” she breathes, hands grabbing at my ass to haul me closer.
I catch her wrists and guide them up.
“Hold the headboard,” I order. “Hands stay there. Do you understand?”
Her lips part. She nods, eager-too eager.
“Good girl, Luna.”
I sink into her slowly, just a few inches, stretching her, making her feel every bit of it. Her
arms tense like she wants to move, to pull me deeper.

“Please,” she whispers. “More.”
“What was that?” I draw back just enough to make her gasp.
“Please, Ryder,” she begs, voice breaking. “I need you.”

Restraint snaps.
I crush my mouth to hers and drive all the way in-eleven inches, one brutal thrust. Her
moan hits me like fire.
I start pounding into her, hard and relentless, each thrust stealing her breath. She’s fighting the headboard like she’s trying to climb it.
“Ryder-”
I thrust.
“Harder-”
I thrust again.
“Yes! Please, let me move my hands!”
“No.”
I keep driving into her, groaning. “Goddess… you feel so good.”
I hook her legs and throw them over my shoulders, folding her until her knees press toward her chest. The deeper angle makes her whole body jolt.
Then she starts to shake.
That sweet, helpless tremor that tells me she’s right there.
“You want to come on my cock, don’t you, Bridget?” I taunt, and she bites her lip hard. “You like it when I take control. I love feeling you squeeze me-those walls tight around
“Oh Goddess, Ryder,” she gasps-warning, plea, both at once.
“Come for me,” I command. “Soak my cock, and then I’m filling you. And don’t you move
your hands. You hear me?”
Her shaking turns violent, and then she breaks-eyes locked on mine as long as she can

manage, legs tightening as she screams my name. Her pussy clamps down so hard I lose it, spilling inside her in thick pulses that won’t stop.
I keep her folded, holding her there.
“That’s it,” I murmur, breath ragged. “Don’t waste a drop.”
When the tremors finally fade, I kiss her slow, then lower her legs and gather her into
my arms. We stay tangled together, skin to skin.
“I love you so damn much,” I tell her.
“I love you too, Ryder.”
We lie there for another ten minutes before I lift her and carry her to the shower.
Training is coming fast for both of us. I also need to talk to my sister about moving
Bridget’s birthday event.
Later, I’ll invite Lord Jude to train with the vampires in our pack, and Bridget will have her
own session-spells, agility, and the few women I trust enough to spar with her.
