Chapter 80 Let’s Go for a Run…

Ryder’s POV

“Morning, mate.”

Her voice drags me out of sleep, and before I’ve even fully surfaced, she is on top of me -warm, bare skin, a wicked little smile-and she sinks down onto my morning hard-on

like it’s where she belongs.

A rough sound tears out of my throat as her slick heat takes me in one slow, perfect motion. I blink my eyes open and find her riding me, nude and fearless, hair tousled from last night, breasts bouncing with every roll of her hips like she’s daring me.

“Morning,” I manage, hands locking around her hips.

I thrust up and hold her there, buried to the hilt, and she lets out a broken moan as her

walls clamp down.

“Fuck…” I groan, pushing up to sit, and I take her nipples into my mouth-one, then the

other-savoring her as she keeps moving on me.

One arm hooks tight around her small waist. My other hand fists in her golden-brown hair and I pull her down to my mouth, claiming it. She opens for my tongue without

hesitation, and I match the rhythm of her riding with my own.

“This might be the best wake-up I’ve ever had,” I grunt.

Her eyes flash that molten, honey-gold, and it hits me again-how much being mated to the Omni-Wolf has changed us. I could drown in those changes and still want more.

“You feel so good, Ryder,” Bridget moans.

Then the air turns cool.

Her hair begins to lift as if the room itself is breathing around her, strands floating like

they’re underwater. She looks radiant-too radiant.

“Please… don’t stop.”

I drive up again, reaching back for the mattress to brace myself-

And my hand meets nothing.

My brow furrows. I look over my shoulder.

We aren’t on the bed.

We are hovering a few feet above it.

Bridget hasn’t noticed. She’s lost in it, still riding, still perfect. Her magic is alive and

working right now.

‘Baby. Look at me.’ I push the words through our bond.

She opens her eyes, still glowing, still unfaltering.

“Bridget,” I say aloud, voice tight. “Look around.”

“More,” she breathes, like she doesn’t even hear me.

For a second I don’t know if this is Bridget, or Mystique, or some other hidden corner of

her. She’s deep in the moment-but I can pull her back.

I kiss along her throat, then my canines slide out.

I bite.

“Oh goddess!”

Her body seizes, orgasm ripping through her, and the spell in her gaze breaks. She sucks.

in a breath, blinking, finally seeing the empty air beneath us.

We drop.

The bed catches us, and she’s still trembling when she pushes hair off her face.

“What just happened?”

I huff a laugh, half stunned, half impressed. “Pretty sure we just invented levitation sex.

Did you even realize you were doing it?”

Bridget grabs my hands, expression uncertain. “Ryder… I don’t know if it was completely

me.”

I follow her stare.

My hands are glowing.

I pull her in, palms against her skin-

-and we start lifting again.

“Ryder Blackwood,” she laughs, swatting at me with a pillow, “control your powers!”

“Tell me you don’t enjoy what you do to me,” I shoot back.

She snorts, eyes bright. “We should probably talk to the elders about this.”

“Agreed.” I glance at my hands like they might betray me again. “And apparently I’m not the only one who needs training now, Alpha.”

“I said what I said,” she replies, smug.

I swing my legs off the bed. “Shower. Food.”

“Yes,” she says, already moving. “And… can we go for a run after? I’ve got too much energy built up.”

“Fine by me. It’s four in the morning. We’ll run before training, then you’ve got Luna prep.

Your coronation’s tomorrow.”

In the bathroom she turns on the water, steam rising fast. She hooks a finger at me- come here and the look in her eyes promises trouble.

“You don’t have to ask.”

I step under the spray with her, and we soap each other up like we’ve got all the time in the world. Her hands glide over my chest, down my stomach, then lower.

She takes her time bringing me back to full hardness, and Talon rumbles in approval.

“Fuck,” I breathe.

I turn her around and press her forward, palms to the glass. I slide into her in one smooth

thrust, deep and hot, and she gasps.

My grip clamps on her hips as I drive into her, hard enough to fog the shower door.

She wraps her legs back around my thighs, locking herself to me. I thrust upward and lift her with every stroke, dragging her higher, pulling her head back by her hair.

I can’t help it-I need her again.

My teeth sink into the delicate line of her neck.

She shatters.

Two more thrusts and I follow, spilling every drop inside her, and I lick the bite to seal it.

“Don’t you dare let a single drop of me out,” I growl against her skin. “You hear me?”

“Yes-Ryder-goddess, yes,” she moans.

Even when I slow, she keeps clenching, milking me with those tight, greedy walls until

I’m oversensitive and shaking.

“You’re too damn good at this, baby,” I mutter.

Eventually we finish washing up and pull on running clothes. Bridget wears leggings

and a fitted tank that makes it impossible not to stare. She practically glows, hair

snapped into a high ponytail.

Before we head out, she braids my hair back into neat rows.

We leave through the side door of the pack house with our security detail moving with

Iron Fang and Mason are on run duty today. As we start, more warriors fall in. When we

hit the field, Beatrix and Montgomery join without missing a step.

We pass by the vampire coven on our property, and a handful of them decide they’re

coming too.

Halfway around the border of pack land, we reach witch territory. Amara and a few of

her people slip into the pack like they’ve been waiting for it.

Bridget’s pace is strong-too controlled. She’s holding back.

‘Come on, Bridget. Push it.’ I send through the bond.

She looks over with a smile that says she’s been thinking the same thing.

“If you can keep up, prove it!” she calls out. “Perimeter loop, then pack hall for breakfast.

Move!”

And she launches.

Talon surges with me, hungry for the chase. Bridget becomes a streak-fast, graceful, unstoppable, like lightning learned how to smile.

I sprint with everything I have to match her.

A glance back shows we’ve already dropped most of the runners. Beatrix and Montgomery are close behind, and a few vampires hold a steady, predatory pace.

But no one touches my mate.

No one but me.

Maybe it’s the mate bond. Maybe it’s something deeper, written into our blood. Either

way, she finally gives me a real run for my money.

We angle north, cutting through town where so many of our pack live. Faces appear in windows, shouting encouragement. A few pups race after us, trying desperately to hang

We pass the fountain in the center and aim for the forest.

“Come on, Alpha,” Bridget calls over her shoulder, laughing. “Don’t let me kick your ass!”

I chuckle and dig deeper. “Worry about keeping up with me.”

She closes the gap anyway.

We veer right onto a narrow path, leaping logs, startling small animals into the underbrush. The trees thin ahead, and the back of the pack house comes into view.

Then she pushes.

A wave of energy slams through us-through my muscles, through my lungs, through

the bond itself. It floods me and fuels her at the same time.

I surge forward and pass her as the steps appear.

And she steals it back, darting ahead again.

Give. Take. Back and forth. Neither of us willing to yield.

By the time we break into the open, there’s a crowd waiting. Word has traveled.

Connor stands near the steps with his arm extended like a finish line.

I scoop her up, breathless and laughing, and she loops her arms around my neck, hugging me hard.

“I’m proud of you,” I whisper into her ear. “I’ll lose to you any day before I lose to anyone else.”

“That was amazing,” she says, eyes bright. “Thanks for not going easy. And I’ll thank you properly later.”

“Alright, you two!” Evelyn calls, clapping her hands. “Breakfast time! Great run, everyone

-get inside and eat!”

Beatrix and Montgomery are bent over, catching their breath, and even that tells me

something: Bridget’s right. There’s more happening with her than stamina.

And if my mate is noticing it, we’re not ignoring it.

I take Bridget’s hand, and together we head inside to the main dining hall for breakfast.
