Chapter 94 The cavalry arrives…
Ryder’s POV
We’ve got the place. We’ve got the plan. Now we’re standing outside the pack house,
gearing up to move.
More than a thousand of us-men and women-are lined up and ready. Every leader
who stayed behind while I fought to get my Luna back is here, shoulder to shoulder with
Mom and Luna Adriana join forces with Evelyn and the other witches on hand. Together,
they manage to open five portals. It takes all of them-every ounce of their combined
power-to shift this many warriors from our land all the way to the Swiss Alps.
“Remember your assignments!” I shout. “We go in, we get the Omni-Wolf, and we end
this!”
I step through first.
Five portals. Five teams. Chapter Unlocked, Enjoy Reading!
At my command, the other leaders surge into their gateways, and the roar of our
warriors rises behind them-hungry, furious, ready. The second my boots touch the other
side, the cold punches through me. Wind cuts across open snowfields. Fat flakes tumble
out of a grey sky, burying everything in white.
Beautiful.
It won’t stay that way.
When the last of our people clears the portals, the magic seals shut behind us. Alarms
begin to wail from the castle as we sprint forward. Enemy troops are already stationed
outside, stiff and sluggish from the cold.
Good. Let the weather hurt them first.
I catch the stink of too many species at once-vampire, fae, were-bear, lycan.
They spill from the castle like a swarm.
A massive bear barrels straight for me. We both launch, meeting in midair with a brutal
crash. I drive my fist into his face hard enough to send him flying. He slams into a tree;

the trunk bends, snaps, and drops-crashing down onto two vampires underneath.
The bear hauls himself up again and charges.
I drop low, slide beneath his weight, and tear his belly open as he thunders past. He hits
the snow and doesn’t get back up.
We keep moving. The steps to the castle come fast beneath our feet. The front doors
explode open, and vampires rush us.
They thought speed belonged to them.
Not anymore.
One lunges, confident, and his confusion flashes across his face when I’m already there- already moving. My hands find his head, and his neck breaks clean. We drive forward in a tight pack, cutting deeper into the castle.
Noise erupts from a room to the right.
We pivot in and find Alpha Nolan and his people locked in with a group of lycans. Nolan is already shifted, and the sight hits me-he’s half lycan too. His wolf form is enormous, an absolute monster, tossing lycans like they weigh nothing. He clamps down on one
and rips him open at the side.
A witch sprints toward me.
I catch her.
I move at full speed, seize her, sink my teeth into her neck, and rip out her throat. The chunk of flesh lands wetly beside her body when I spit it out.
‘We can handle this, Alpha. Find your mate.’ Alpha Nolan’s voice pushes through the
mind-link.
I nod and keep going with my team.
Bridget is here. I can feel it in my bones.
The castle twists like a maze, corridors folding into corridors, but her scent threads. through the stone. I can sense her heartbeat-steady, alive. I take the hallway on the left.
Talon matches me step for step. We both feel the pull.
Bridget and Mystique are reaching for us.

I turn the next corner and meet five soldiers head-on.
I’m about to tear into them when a blur flashes behind their line.
Lord Jude.

He uses vamp speed like a blade, carving through them in an instant. He sinks his teeth
into the last one, then gives me a sharp nod-go.
His team has already finished off the lycans in this wing.
I return the nod-thanks-and break into the next corridor.
At the far end, two soldiers are trying to reach the stairs. They see me and rush.
Then I feel my beta.
Connor leaps, shifting mid-motion, and hits them in wolf form. One dies immediately, his
throat gone before he even understands what happened. The second tries to fight
through, but Drake catches him by the arms and tears him in half like paper.
‘Go get our Luna!’ Connor and Drake hit me together through the mind-link.
I don’t slow down.
A set of double doors waits ahead.
Locked.
And then the air changes-heavy, wrong. A huge shadow fills the hall behind me.
I turn.
A were-bear stands there, low growl vibrating out of him, eyes daring me to try.
I roll my shoulders, crack my neck to the left, then to the right, and lift my hands in a
simple gesture.
Come on.
He launches.
I slip aside, and he smashes into the wall hard enough to shake dust free. He recovers
fast, but I’m faster-I yank up a side table and drive it down over his skull. Wood
splinters into shards.

I step in and hammer him: fist to face, then again. A right hook, a left, then two brutal
shots to his kidneys.
He reels-then grabs me.
A bear hug clamps down, crushing the air out of my chest. He laughs when I grunt.
I throw my head back and slam it forward.
The headbutt snaps him loose. I drop, and as I fall I slice deep along his leg-from hip to
ankle-cutting down to bone.
He screams and grabs the ruined limb.
I kick the wound.
He buckles, slips in his own blood, and crashes to the floor. I seize his neck and twist.
Snap.
He goes still.
I shove the dead weight off me and force the doors open with my strength.
Inside-blood.
So much blood.
Four, maybe five bodies, but they’re barely bodies anymore-just ruined heaps. White
marble is painted crimson. In the center of it all stands my mate.
Bridget.
She’s drenched in red.
Oh, goddess.
But I can feel her heartbeat. Strong. Real.
“Ryder?” Her voice is soft, almost nothing.
“Bridget!” I’m across the room in a heartbeat. My hands are on her face, her arms, her
shoulders-everywhere-searching for injuries, for proof she’s truly here, that this isn’t

another nightmare. “Oh goddess-are you okay?”
“Yes.” She swallows. “I’m okay. It isn’t my blood.”
Her gaze drifts around, like the destruction is only now landing on her.
“I’ve missed you so much.” I pull her into me, holding her with everything I’ve got left.
“Oh Ryder… I can’t believe you found me.”
“I told you I would. Always.” I kiss her, then rest my forehead against hers.
A cold voice cuts through the moment.
“Well, isn’t this touching. Priscilla-I give you one simple task, and you ruin it.”
We turn.
A witch stands in the doorway. Not ours. Her expression is poison.
I move Bridget behind me without thinking.
That’s when I realize someone else is in the room.
A vampire woman-watching, tense.
Priscilla.
My fist tightens. If I have to kill a woman today, I will.
“Celeste,” Bridget says, stepping up beside me again, her hand finding mine, “it’s over.
You lost.”
“I’ll decide when it’s over!” Celeste’s fury cracks like lightning. “You destroyed everything
-and you forgot about me.”
She lifts her hand.
A flash.
And Beatrix slams into her.
Beatrix tackles Celeste to the ground so hard the stone jolts. Claws extend. In seconds,
the witch is screaming-then not screaming-then nothing. Beatrix tears her apart with
savage precision.

Montgomery appears right behind her, blood smeared over him too. Together, they look
like they’ve been built for war.
“Fighting’s still happening outside,” Montgomery says from the doorway. “You ready.
Alpha?”
Beatrix rises, chest heaving, eyes hungry for more.
“I need to see it,” Bridget says.
I blink, confused by the urgency in her tone, but I don’t argue. I take her hand and we move fast through the castle, cutting straight to the front steps.
Montgomery wasn’t wrong.
The battle is still raging-shouts, snarls, steel, snow turning to slush under boots. I scan
for my people.
I haven’t lost a single man or woman.
I’m not starting now.
I step forward to rejoin the fight.
Bridget stops me.
“No.”
She lifts her hand in a small motion, calm as a tide.
Then she sings.
One note.
Pure and powerful, ripping through the air at full force.
Every soldier still fighting for the king jerks like they’ve been struck. They clutch their
heads, slam hands over their ears, and collapse into the snow. Blood starts to seep-
eyes, ears, nose, mouth-until their bodies go slack.
Dead.
Silence spreads in shocked waves.
We stare.

“Your siren powers?” I breathe, still gripping her. “You just killed all of them… how?”
“I aimed it at the evil spirits,” Bridget says simply.
Our warriors step over the fallen and erupt into cheers, victory surging through the ranks.
“She doesn’t ever stop surprising me, bro,” Connor says as he comes up beside me, grinning while he starts calling for the portals.
“I agree.” I look back to Bridget. “You ready?”
“Yes-but wait.” She gestures back toward the castle. “This is Priscilla. She helped me
get to you. I promised her there’d be a place for her with us.”
The vampire woman edges forward, shy and uncertain.
I straighten, meeting her eyes. “It’s a pleasure. I’m Alpha Ryder. We’d be honored to
bring you home to our pack.”
Her face shifts like she’s taking her first real breath.
“Thank you, Alpha Ryder,” she says.
Bridget takes her hand and gently pulls her along as the portal begins to form.
