Chapter 413

I can’t believe that fucking bitch locked me in my own damn shackles. I was stuck and I knew Robin would come for me.

I’d pulled and pulled, finally getting one foot through, but I’d had to break it in order to get it through and most of the skin had burned off of it. By the time I was done, I had almost no energy. But I knew my time was running short. So, I had a choice, cut off the other foot or die a slow death at Robin’s hands.

My wolf is silent because of the silver, so I did what I had to do. I cut off my foot to save myself. Thankfully, I’d been able to make a tourniquet so I didn’t bleed out and then, I’d used the silver to burn through my skin and flesh until all that was left was bone. Then, I’d smashed it, breaking it and releasing myself from the shackles. I dragged myself out of the packhouse, unable to walk with a missing foot, a broken foot, and no wolf.

I’m not sure how long I’d been going when I heard the howl of the hunt. They found Nicole’s scent, and therefore mine. I’d been lucky to

get away.

I dragged myself to my car, finding extra clothes to wrap around my stump. Once that was done, I got in the car and turned it on. I knew hitting the gas pedal was going to hurt, and I had to fight the scream of pain as I pushed my broken foot again the pedal. But it was that, or the stump and I went with what would cause the least amount of pain.

before I passed out, I had one final thought.

“Robin, we’ve got her scent, it’s…” Lucas begins.

“I don’t care. Show me.”

“Robin,” Hunter says sternly. “Her scent is covered with Camden’s, no surprise there. But there’s also blood.”

“Show me,” I say again. Maybe her blood is from getting out of these silver shackles and handcuffs.

I’m not sure how long we’ve been running, I’m still too slow and it angers me, but I know Nikki had to run in her human form as well, and I know she was weak and miscarrying, so I can fucking suck it up and keep running.
