As the first group takes off, Robin snuggles Rory against his chest. Jacqueline, Ezra, and Jake shift and we all begin making our way

home.

I wasn’t sure what to expect when we arrived at Alpha Robin and Nikki’s pack, but it wasn’t the reception we received. Before we even got to the pack’s borders, wolves were rushing out to greet us. I had gotten nervous, but Alphas Ezra and Jake didn’t seem concerned. Then Nikki had put her hand on Serena’s back, telling me that these were her pack members coming out to greet and protect them.

Alpha Robin hasn’t stopped holding his son except when we had to stop for Nikki to nurse him. Otherwise, he has one arm around his mate, and the other holding his son.

While they walked around greeting their pack, their Beta came up to me. I hadn’t shifted back because I don’t have any clothes to wear.

“Hey. I’m Beta Reese. You smell like a Beta, and the other Alphas said that you were on the run from your Alpha. I have some clothes here if you want to shift back. I’m sure Alpha Robin and Luna Nikki have told you, but you’re safe here. No one will try to mark you.”

Serena took the clothes in her mouth and went to a private corner to change. When I stepped back out, Alpha Robin noticed me.

“Everyone!” he finally said, getting the pack’s attention. “No one is happier to have our Luna home than I am, but she’s been through a harrowing ordeal. She needs rest and time to recover. This is Jacqueline,” he says, walking over to me. “Jacqueline has been on the run from her Alpha who wants to publicly mark her. While she was on the run, she found your Luna and saved her life and the life of my pup. She is under my protection and the protection of this pack. I expect you to treat her with the kindness and love that you would show anyone who put the lives and welfare of your Luna and Alpha heir ahead of their own.
