Chapter 443
“What about going to the bathroom? Is he regular?” the doctor asks.
“I’d say so. Again, it’s hard to track when you’re on the run. We didn’t have diapers, and we were using Jacqueline’s shirt, washing it
whenever we got to a body of water, but I’m pretty sure he was regular.”
“He’s already pooped since he’s been home, Doc, and he’s peed twice at least,” I tell him.
“Well, those are all very good things. I think he’s going to be just fine. I’d suggest continuing to feed him every couple of hours for now. That should taper off in a few weeks. But he’s an Alpha and it may take longer, so be prepared to go without sleep, Luna.”
“That’s okay. He’s worth it,” she says.
He picks Rory up and hands him to me. “Luna, if you’ll get undressed and put that gown on, I’ll step out and then we can look you over as well. Alpha, I don’t have to tell you that I’ll have to look af your mate’s body. I need to know that, with everything that has happened, you will be able to control yourself in this room. If you don’t think you can, you can wait outside.”
“I’m not leaving,” I say, watching Nikki.
The doctor looks at me until I turn to him. “I’m NOT leaving.”

>He nods and walks out.
“You can stand by my head, Robin, and use Rory as an anchor,” she says, coming over to kiss me. “I love you and only you.”
“I know,” I say, pressing my head against hers. When she steps back, she strips off her clothes and then puts the gown on.
I can see the bruises and scratches that she still has all over her body from being on the run. I put my face against my son, breathing deeply and smelling the mix of his scent and Nikki’s from nursing. The scent helps to calm me. An anchor, just like my mate said.
When the doctor comes back in, he starts by looking over her wrists and ankles, putting some ointment on it to help the wounds heal.
“I’m assuming with these wounds that Adira is silent?” he asks her.
“Yes,” she says, as he looks over her body, assessing the other wounds on her body.
“These will heal on their own. Nothing looks infected. The ones on your wrists and ankles are the worst. The ointment will help to keep them from getting infected until Adira returns. Now that you’re home, safe, and with your mate, that should happen more quickly.”
“I’ve started to feel her moving around a little. When Derric howled at us in the woods, she recognized him.”
“That’s good. That’s very good. Okay, Luna, lie down on the table for me and let’s make sure that your delivery hasn’t caused any other problems.”

She lays down, then reaches her hand out to me. I walk over and she takes my hand, watching me as Dr. Ostin gets settled between her legs.
“Are you having any pain, Luna?”
“No.”
“Bleeding?”
“Yes,” I say before she can answer. She looks at me, frowning.
“I could taste it on your earlier,” I tell her.
“Not a lot, though,” she says.
“No, not a lot,” I agree.
“Okay Alpha, would you rather know what I’m doing or not? Which will make it easier for you to recognize that I’m assessing your mate’s physical health?”
I look at my mate. “This is her body. Do you want him to tell you what he’s doing?” I ask her.
“Yes. I’d like to know,” she says, smiling up at me.
When he tells me he’s going to slide his fingers inside her and press on her stomach, I growl. Derric makes sure it’s not loud enough to wake Rory, but loud enough that the doctor knows I’m not happy
