“Good. Have a good meeting,” she says, before turning and kissing me in a very possessive, dominant way that lets me know that later tonight, I’ll be deep inside my mate.

When she stands, I watch her as she walks to my door. She winks before she leaves and then I refocus on the call with a smile on my

face.

“It’s good to see her back to her usual sassy self, Robin,” Ezra says.

“I’d say that’s very likely,” Lucas says. “They were in the same pack. They both left Aiden to die, so perhaps they’ve formed their own alliance of sorts.

“Any news on the community area?” Jake asks.

“I don’t think the Lunas have had a meeting since Nikki has been gone, but I believe they are planning one soon,” Hunter says.

“What about Jacqueline?” Kayce asks. “Has she heard anymore from her Alpha?”

“Not that I’m aware. She and Reese have developed a good friendship. She’s an incredible woman. I know my Beta wishes they were fated mates, but they aren’t. But, between her loyalty and her strength, I’m hoping she’s mated to someone in our packs. If not, my Beta wants to take her as his chosen mate,” I say.

“How strong is she?” Jake asks.

“She held her own against me,” I say with admiration.

“Damn. And she’s a Beta?” Dutton/asks.

“I asked her if she had Alpha in her blood, but she didn’t think so. She‘ s been running warrior training in her old pack since before she was eighteen.

“My Beta’s not mated. Maybe we should introduce them,” Kayce says.

“My Beta’s not either. Maybe we should introduce her to all of them,” Dutton says.

“My new Beta isn’t either, but I’m pretty sure she doesn’t swing that way,” Amelia says smiling.

“You made it official?” I ask.

“I did. With me being away and not trusting Caleb, I needed to put Jocelyn officially in the Beta position. The pack has actually taken to her quite well. She beat Caleb in a sparring match which didn’t hurt either,” she says, smiling a vicious smile.

“So, when can our Betas meet this new woman?” Kayce asks, turning the conversation back to Jacqueline.

“Well, two things about that. First, I’ve offered to let her compete. She‘ s that good. I don’t know if she wants to be an Alpha, but if she’s interested, I’d like to get her in contact with you, Amelia.”

“I’m definitely willing and would love to have another female Alpha in our group,” she says, smiling.

“Good, and the second thing is, I know we had a plan for the packs, but now that Aiden is gone, could we put that pack up as the next one for competition?” I ask.

“I had the exact same thought,” Kayce says.

“As did I,” Hunter agrees, and then everyone agrees.

“We can come up with the details in our next Alpha meeting which I‘ m suggesting we have sooner rather than later. Dutton, I know you talked to us while we were on the run, but I think we need to have a longer conversation about your plans,” Kayce says.

“I know Nikki is looking through the laws again, hoping to find something to help your case if you have to drag that Alpha female out of her pack,” I say.

“Good, and yes, we do need a longer conversation. But I need to leave soon. Is a week too short of a timeframe for us to meet?” he asks.

Kayce shrugs. “Do you still want to meet here? We had everything prepared before, we could do it again pretty quickly.”

We all agree.

“Okay, one week from today. Robin, I’ll come to your packhouse with some warriors, just to make sure that your trip to our pack lands are safe,” Kayce says.

“I wish I could tell you that it’s not necessary, but…”

“You don’t have to say a word. I have my own guilt over what happened to you and your mate. I’ll be there, with warriors.”
