“You? By yourself?” I ask derisively.

“Oh hell no. Come on, Camden, you’re smarter than that. At least I hope you are because I plan to make you my Beta.”

“Yeah. I mean, without a foot, you can’t be Alpha and since I’m the mastermind who has figured out a way to attack and get Calvin’s pack I should be Alpha anyway.”

A day after we found Caleb’s scent outside Reese’s pack lands, Dutton and Amelia called an emergency Alpha meeting. Since Reese isn’t set up yet in his pack, he came to ours to join the call.

“Miles, why don’t you fill everyone in on what you told us,” he says.

Miles informs us that Caleb separated from Alpha David and Beta Cash about a mile outside Alpha Calvin’s pack.

“After speaking to Jacqueline, it appears that Alpha David and Beta Cash most likely returned to their pack which is east of Alpha Calvin and in between his and Alpha Ezra’s packs. Gamma Caleb’s trail…”

“Just Caleb. He’s been stripped of his title in my pack,” Amelia growls

“Caleb’s trail went west. We wanted to inform Alphas Dutton and Amelia before following either trail, and they decided to call this meeting, so I’m unsure of where those trails lead.”

“Oh, I dare him to return to this pack.” Jocelyn growls beside Amelia.

“West would be in the direction where we found Koden’s hideout,

wouldn’t it?” Hunter asks.

“Yes. And since we know that he’s after Amelia, it makes sense that his hideout was closer to her pack,” Reese says.

I turn and look at my previous Beta frowning. I see Nikki looking at him the same way.

“What did you say?” Amelia asks.

Reese looks startled as he turns to me. “I …I’m not the only one who heard Alpha Aiden say that Koden was after Alpha Amelia, right?”

“Shit, did we not tell you, Amelia?” Ezra says.

“Aww, shit. We were so busy trying to find Nikki that I’m guessing none of us remembered to tell you once we found her and returned home,” Dutton says.

“Koden is after me?” Amelia asks, her voice sounding small. “Is that why Calvin was targeted?”

“Most likely,” Ezra says gently.

She scrubs her hands over her face, but I’m impressed to see her pull herself together quickly. “When I get my hands on Caleb, I’m going to rip him to shreds,” she snarls.

I lean forward. “So, are we all in agreement that it appears that Caleb was helping not only Koden and Alpha David, but also Camden?” I

ask.

“He has to be our mole. He knew the schedule of the Alpha

ceremonies before most pack members, and he would have known the packs that were coming up for competition ahead of most pack members. And that includes the switch from Elias’ pack to Aiden’s,” Amelia says.

“We need to follow both trails and we need eyes on Koden’s hideout. What do you need from us, Beta Miles?” Hunter asks.

“If I’m just gaining intel, I can split the warriors that I have from mine and Alpha Robin’s packs and follow both trails. But if you want us to attack or defend at any point, I’m going to need more men.”

“Send my men to follow Caleb. That’s the best chance we have of finding Camden,” I say.

“I’m not sure I understand Alpha David’s role in all of this. If he’s after me, what does that have to do with Alpha Calvin’s pack?” Jacqueline

asks.

“Caleb is selling information, Jacqueline. If he thinks he can use Alpha David to overthrow Alpha Calvin’s pack, then he’ll use that as leverage to give Alpha David your location,” Nikki says, having figured out Caleb’s plan quickly.

“Anthony, how secure is the pack?” Amelia asks him.

He sighs. “This pack hasn’t been tested in a long time. I honestly don’t know, Alpha.”

“I’ll stay and help make sure the pack remain secure,” Miles says.

“I’ll send warriors to you,” Amelia tells him.

“No, Alpha. If you’re a target, you need to keep your warriors with you,” Anthony says.
