So, I’ve come here, on the southern side of Amelia’s pack, on the border between hers and Dutton’s packs in case I have to run quickly. I’ve noticed the increased patrols, but they stay on pack lands,

monitoring the borders. I’ve been searching for a way to get in, but so far. I haven’t found one.

I focus on my future mate. She no longer nurses her daughter while she’s running warrior training, so I don’t get the chance to see her big tits, but she’s started training, her and Beta Jocelyn. Caleb was right about that too. Jocelyn is getting stronger and if Dr. Caspian could put her back together, then I’m positive he’ll be able to put Calvin back together.

I’ve just started planning for the possibility of Amelia moving Calvin to her pack when I hear a quiet rustling nearby. I go very still, sniffing the air and watching from my spot in the tree. I’d seen the scouts watching Dutton’s pack and had skirted around them. I know this land very well, first from being Hunter’s Gamma, then from watching the packs while I waited to get my revenge, and now from watching Amelia. So, while they hadn’t been exactly easy to spot, I’d caught the scent of unknown wolves and followed it to where they were hiding and watching.

When the man steps out of the bushes, I catch the scent. Alpha. Not one of the Alphas that live around here.

“You seem lost,” I say, wondering what an unknown Alpha is doing

His head snaps up to me and I watch his eyes narrow as he searches through the trees until he seems to land close to where I am. I chose this tree because it’s a good spot to hide.

“Who are you?” he asks.

“I’m the guy who lives around here. I think the better question is who are you, Alpha? And what are you doing sneaking around outside these packs?”

He sniffs the air again. “Don’t pretend you’re part of these packs. You smell like a rogue.”

“That may be, but I’ve at least lived here all my life, and I don’t

recognize your scent, or the scent of the men I’m assuming are your scouts.”

“Why don’t you come down so we can talk like civilized people?”

“Not until I know why you’re here, Alpha”

“David. My name’s Alpha David and I’m here to take what’s mine.”

“And who might that be?” I ask, feeling my hackles going up, my body tensing, as I ready myself to attack if he says Amelia.

“Why are you here?” he asks instead.

“I’m here to find a way to take what’s mine as well,” I growl.

“Who the fuck is Jacqueline?” I ask.

He narrows his eyes at me. “Who are you here for?”

“Alpha Amelia,” I say, watching him closely.

“The female Alpha? I heard about her. Didn’t her mate just have some sort of serious accident?”

“Sure did,” I say smugly. “So, where’d you get your intel? Caleb or Camden?”

“You know them?” he asks.

“I do. We all used to belong to these packs. If you got your information from Caleb, be careful. He’s not as smart as he thinks he is.”

“Yeah, I’ve already figured that one out. He’s the one who told me about the Alpha’s pack that is ripe for the picking.”

“I wouldn’t be so sure about that. There were quite a few warriors, on the move recently and they were headed that way.”

I look at him, watching has he begins to pace.

alliance, and they are very protective of their own. She won’t be easy
