The Perfect Wife's Perfect Revenge novel Chapter 762

Leonie, who had just gotten home, flew into a rage the moment she saw the video from Connor.

She changed her clothes and stormed back out. Mr. and Mrs. Everhart saw her fuming and had no idea what was wrong.

"Leonie, what's gotten into you now?"

Leonie ignored them, grabbed her keys, and sped off in her car, leaving her parents staring after her in confusion, wondering what mad whim had seized her this time.

She raced all the way to the hospital, where she found Connor and his buddies hanging out.

"Don't you dare say bad things about my uncle. Maybe you just filmed a coincidence. Besides, he has so many employees at his company, maybe it was a very important client?"

Connor gave her a cold look. "Do important clients in your family get personally escorted to the maternity ward by the boss?"

Leonie was speechless, her eyes welling up with tears. Though she couldn't find the words to argue, she stared defiantly at Connor. "It can't be. It's definitely not my uncle."

Liam stood by, looking helpless. He wasn't about to step in now. He was even more afraid Connor would make him confront her directly, but thankfully, Connor didn't do something so pointless.

"You saw the video. The evidence is rock-solid."

Leonie glared at Connor. "I bet you fabricated it. You did this because you like my aunt, didn't you? You're being shameless. My aunt and uncle are not getting a divorce."

Connor gave a lazy yawn. "I'm not that bored. Why don't we make a bet? We follow your uncle for a day."

Leonie didn't hesitate. "Fine. We follow him."

But then she glanced at Connor, who was still lying in his hospital bed. "How are we going to do that? You're stuck in the hospital."

Just then, one of Connor's guys walked in with a stack of papers. "Connor, your discharge papers are all processed."

Leonie stared at Connor. "You can leave the hospital?"

Leonie rolled her eyes and shot back, "In your dreams. Keep that fantasy to yourself."

She was in no mood to joke with him. She was desperate to prove that her uncle was absolutely not the man Connor claimed he was.

Connor just grinned. He was more than happy to play along, if only to prevent Gwyneth from being deceived any longer. It's just a marriage, he thought. Who hasn't been divorced these days? If they split, maybe he'd get his chance to swoop in.

"Fine, let's go. But don't come crying to me when you see the truth. And don't forget, if your uncle really is that kind of guy, you owe me. You have to be my girlfriend."

Connor was only half-joking. He knew he liked Gwyneth, and to know the truth and not tell her wouldn't be right.

Liam gave a couple of awkward laughs from the side. "Connor, I think I'll sit this one out. You guys go ahead."

With Connor being so certain and the video as evidence, Leonie's confidence was shaken. She agreed that something like this was best kept quiet. The fewer people who knew, the better.
