"This is between me and Connor. No one else needs to get involved."
Besides, this was an Everhart family matter. It shouldn't be aired out for others to see.
Liam was more than happy to back out. He knew what kind of man Hawthorne was—not someone to be trifled with. Hawthorne was directly related to the Green family on his mother's side; if anything happened, the Greens would have his back. Liam, on the other hand, had clawed his way up on his own. One wrong move could send years of hard work down the drain. For a powerhouse like Hawthorne, all he could do was curry favor, not make enemies. He took the first chance he got to slip away.
Connor and Leonie left the hospital, leaving Liam behind to handle the cleanup—packing up Connor's personal items. Anything that needed to be thrown out was disposed of carefully, to prevent anyone from picking it up and doing God knows what with it. As a famous race car driver with a solid fanbase in the country, Connor had seen his used items auctioned online for exorbitant prices. A scandal like that would surely damage his reputation.
Leonie hesitated before getting into Connor's car. "Are you sure you're okay to drive?"
He was, after all, a repeat offender when it came to accidents involving Gwyneth. She was skeptical of his driving skills, even though he was internationally renowned and had hordes of adoring fans.
"Are you questioning my driving? Have you ever followed my career? Go look at my track record."
Leonie had no patience for his bragging right now. "Alright, alright, that's enough. No matter how great you are, you still lost to my aunt."
She'd heard it from Connor's own so-called buddies: his skills on the road were no match for Gwyneth's.
The two were on the verge of arguing again as Connor, with practiced ease, drove the car to the front of Hawthorne's villa. They found a concealed spot to park, hidden from any security cameras.
Leonie couldn't help but let out a surprised "Huh?"
"How do you know my uncle lives here?"
He seemed to know the way by heart, as if it wasn't his first time. Of course, Connor wasn't about to admit he used to come here all the time looking for Gwyneth.

The readers' comments on the novel: The Perfect Wife's Perfect Revenge
If Gwyn gets an abortion I am going to stop reading this story, I believe in pro-choice but come on. Why can't he just tell her what he is really doing with Patti instead of letting her think she is a mistress....
Why no updates? It’s been so long! Pls update....
